Knuckles is different, he can super glide off monitors and enemies to gain lots of height.
Sonic cannot, which is why it's based off the initial peak jump height.
The wall extends all the way up to the top of the level, and for any bounce strat to work, the initial peak of your first jump would need to go above the top of the level.
No, as it's still the 2011 version of the game but cropped. You might be able to use it on the sonic origins board.
@MalHare_1983 there's no GH1 run on your profile? Your CN1 run in S3 that clearly showed Picodrive (a core that isn't accepted) was rejected.
As per the S3K rules:
It is strongly recommended that the emulator used is adequately identifiable at some point during the run (preferably at the start). Your run may be rejected if the emulator cannot be identified from the video and is suspected of not being ran on a valid emulator and/or core.
If the core shows as picodrive when the game is loaded then it's not using the gpgx core.
32x is an add on module for the genesis and isn't any different to running it without the add-on.
@BlazingRaven495 Pausing used to be banned in glitchless, but was removed, because it's a function built into the game, and is useful for certain movement tech.
Plus with IGT timing there is the potential where pausing could be stripped in video editing so doesn't make a huge amount of sense.
You'd also end up invalidating quite a number of runs in doing so. The game was already timed RTA-TBC as a secondary timing method, so it kept the vast majority of the runs valid as well.
It's confusing because you have resurrected a thread that has no context. And what you have said isn't true.
Any run that follows the rules will be accepted. If we know people who have done full game runs that include a better IL time that will get added to ensure the IL board doesn't show a non-optimal route or strat as the "best" run.
Ah yes, I remember now - it was over 2 years ago that I did some digging. This is what I said in Discord about it:
So basically the IGT is technically running all the way up to pressing start. I think there was some discussion about changing the timing method, however RTA based ones are a bit difficult as speeding up the bonus countdown is very inconsistent, so I don't think any progress has been made on that.
Either from letting the demo play or after a game over
No. The mobile port has its own board, however, you used mods which aren't allowed in a speedrun.
We don't require a timer to be present in the video. We will correct the time when verifying the run.
Timing is RTA-TB.
You can time it IGT for your own purposes, but on the board it will be the RTA-TB time.
