Oblivion any% notes:
-Be cautious of health and ammo as always. In Oblivion any% your health and ammo do NOT replenish after completing a chapter. So if you beat the first boss with 1 health you will start chapter 2 with 1 health and the amount of ammo you had before. Due to this health/ammo situation, management should be taken seriously in order to achieve a great PB. It's important to go out of your way in some areas and find extra health/ammo because you'll need it. Full health packs are scarce, but if you go out of your way you can find more life forces for a max health up.
-Regular enemies have a damage buff/health buff. Some enemies tank more shots than others for some reason. The enemies also have an increased "AI" to where they don't let you run past them so easily like on Easy any%. So in this case when wanting to do the Skip First Enemy In A Section, Skip Them All strategy just be sure to dodge the possible hits since the enemies are ruthless now. It's optimal in some way to take out more enemies than you do in Easy any%.
Here are the changes to the bosses in Oblivion any%:
-CH. 1 - Oblivion Gunship - Health/Damage buff (It's "tentacle spine" takes more hits.)
-CH. 2 - Xiphias - Damage buff (Xiphias still has the same health as on Easy any%. It's great.)
-CH. 3 - Opisthor - Health/Damage buff (Still fairly simple if you manage health.)
-CH. 4 - Alpha Fireborn - Health/Damage buff (This version of Alpha has a ton of health. If you don't kill it in time it will go back into the lava and regenerate health over and over again until you're able to defeat The Alpha.)
-CH. 5 - Oblivion - Health buff/Slight damage buff (Since Oblivion in Oblivion any% has a health buff this means that his cycles take more hits. Due to the number of hits Oblivion takes in this category it will have the opportunity to do the open-chest projectile more which is the best possible rng.)
-CH. 5 - Joshua - Health buff (Don't know how much damage he does thanks to the Joshua Crouch strategy, but he has more health. As always go for the headshots. This fight will always be the simplest thanks to the Joshua Crouch strategy.
Here's a strategy I figured out for Alpha Fireborn:
Dodge Alpha Fireborn's projectiles while staying on top of the grenade ammo in the front (so you'll can replenish) and spam the grenade launcher. Doing this will stop The Alpha from going under to regenerate. In the moment that you do have to wait for more grenade ammo immediately switch to another weapon that does a lot of damage to The Alpha. The Alpha also has a minion who continuously spawns. This minion will not attack you when the lava boulder has the floor hardened. If The Alpha's floor turns back into lava and it goes back under you don't need to shoot the minion. Instead shoot the lava boulder back down so The Alpha will rise above the surface again. [I'm still collecting data on if the minion can be manipulated to just stand at the lava boulder and not do anything.]*
(If you have any data on this category post it here. The Turok speedrunning community greatly appreciates it!)
