Changing the language setting in the Chinese version from Traditional to Simplified

The Chinese version of Sticker Star actually has two versions of Chinese, Traditional and Simplified, in its localization folder (with Traditional being the default). This guide explains how to switch to Simplified.

Note that this assumes your 3DS is already hacked with custom firmware; if it is not, refer to https://3ds.hacks.guide/ for instructions on how to do that. Lastly, this will work for both the physical and digital versions of the Chinese version.

1. Make sure your 3DS has game patching enabled; hold SELECT while powering on your system, then enable it if it isn't already enabled
2. Turn off your 3DS, remove the SD card and insert it in your PC.
3. Go to the "luma" folder
4. In it, create a folder called "titles"
5. In titles, create a folder called "00040000000C8100"
6. In the title ID folder, create a text document called "locale"
7. In locale.txt, type "CHN ZH"
8. Save the TXT and insert the SD card back into your 3DS.

Now, when you launch the Chinese version of Sticker Star, the text will be in Simplified Chinese instead of Traditional Chinese.

Overall, this is an easier version of the route but it's harder to learn because there are no pictures/videos included and sticker album management is missing.

The newest route features a lot of videos and pictures which should help with learning and remembering everything. The route also includes sticker album management to make battles faster. Previously, runners wasted some time searching for specific stickers while running the game.

This route is very old and was based on the Any% v4.0 route. The strats in here are not optimal and you would be better of routing this again from scratch.

After jumping over the fence it is best to wait a little bit because you will run into a goomba most of the time if you're too fast.

This trick is not too precise but you only have a small timeframe to do the right inputs.
You need a different walking angle depending on when you start to walk towards the wall and where you stand on the leaf.
You might want to practice this with home buffering (like shown in the video) until you get a basic understanding of the positioning and the angles.

The first extended jump is pretty easy but you might want to skip doing the second one as it probably is a frame perfect trick.
Instead, you can just finish the level the intended way.

After obtaining the Bowser tape, you can jump right to the Wiggler segment, saving a few seconds.
Otherwise you would have to walk there.
Get into the right position at the bush,
walk right,
jump down after a few frames,
and immediately go right again.

You can go OoB in 2-4 Damp Oasis which saves a few frames in a speedrun but it’s not really worth going for.
If you fail this once, you already start to lose time.
