Seeing as this is the most popular and active genesis game on the site. With 7 mods iam very shocked that ive been waiting over a week and my 2 runs havent been approved when 4 of the 7 mods have been active on the site in that time. I understand it can take up to 3 weeks. But my point is ,id expect alot better from the most active genesis game with 7 bloody mods. I run many games and the normal wait time is 24 hours to 5 days max! What im saying is, it discourages me from running this game more and improving my very back of the pack 1st submissions. Really going on 8 days and seeing that 4 of the mods have been online since then is just lazy. If you dont to do the work of being a mod dont be one. Iam a mod of several games and i make the time to check the runs in 1 to 4 days every time. Dont you want this games leaderboard to grow ? Dont you want this site to grow and become more popular? Well it starts with good mods. Food for thought
I think that's an issue with a many of the leaderboards. I would believe the 3 weeks rule was implemented in case a good moderator is exceptionally on vacation but wasn't intended to be a normal wait time. I'd love to see that global rule change. Personally, I approve runs within a day or 2 and if I didn't think I was going to be able to do that, I'd add more moderators to help me until that timeline is met. I follow another SoR 2 on Twitch that has been waiting for more than a week for his silver medal run to get approved. Also food for thought. I don't want to frustrate anyone here. I'm a tourist here.
Im not trying to be rude. Hence why I made the title of the thread poor mods or busy? I'm asking a question. The main thing for me is I was expecting alot better with 6 mods and the most active genesis game. I def have gotten use to most mods talking 1 to 4 days. I understand they all have 3 weeks to get around to it. But the reason I bring this up is because I think fast acting mods help leaderboreds grow and help the site. That's all.
I've been around this community for a while now, most of the mods are very much oldschool so they probably don't devote the same amount of time they once did to verifying runs for this game, and while it may appear like they're a bit lazy, it's also kind of a non issue if the runs are verified a bit slower no? After all it's all volunteer "work" to keep this page going, 5 days for a verification doesn't seem like a lot to me, especially if the mods are careful enough to watch entire runs to keep the leaderboards pristine, which might be the case here. Either way if you love running games then keep doing it for the love, your name will show up on the boards eventually
I definitely thought about all of that, so great points oDSFM. Your very right. But also Lightingcollector just spoke up to be a mod and I think maybe they should add him. Because to alot of runners we are use to 1 2 or 3 days. Going on 8 days with 6 mods for the most active genesis game isn't good either. So hopefully some of them who don't make a point to be a mod should let others become a mod like Lightingcollector As it seems like hes much more willing to be a active mod over some of the current mods who were online today but and have been all week and clearly have ignored them. Makes sense to me. I can say I'm way more likey to keep running a game when I see that the mods are very proactive.
Hello guys, I appreciate everyone speaking up about the issue regarding mods not verifying the runs swiftly enough. First thing I would say is that yes 1 week is absolutely fine in my book, but with the amount of mods we have, yes we should be on top of it more than we we are. It could be a topic we have with all the mods to speed it up a little somehow. With regards to myself, I just started a business and its sink or swim. My main focus has been on this recently. But since there’s a lot of fuss going on right now, I will verify ALL runs unless some other mods verify before I do. Cheers. Mr_Tomahawk
100% respect that Mr Mohawk life comes 1st. Tho there are 6 mods . I have a feeling that 2 or 3 probably have been the ones approving the runs the past year. So maybe it's a great idea to add q more mod. Btw I never brought this up to be rude but a observation and a suggestion to help the leaderbored from a outside perspective and comparing it to the proactive mods of other games. Agian I was legit shocked to see the most actice and popular Genesis game be this slow. It's a good thing in some ways but also a bad thing.
While @oDSFM is right, I don't think that is an excuse for any mod. If we mods can't do our duty, we should be passing the torch to someone else who can devote the time.
Last time I suggested adding more mods though I was met with "the mod team is too bloated already". We'll see if that happens again to me. Also keep in mind, I can not do anything about the Super Mods. Only they themselves can step down. We have added @bradyo2 to help out for the time being.
I will apologize for my absense as well. I'll try and stay on top of things again.
Thank you for bringing up the concerns about inactivity.
