Hi, I'm a Japanese gamer, sorry for my poor English.

Originally I met Return to Zork about 20 years ago, which was Sega-Saturn, Japanese translated version. It was the hardest and the most unique adventure game I've ever played. (I think I might be the fastest speed-runner of Return to Zork Sega-Saturn version.) Since then, Return to Zork is one of my favorite games.

Recently I found Return to Zork is sold on Steam, so I bought it and determined to try speed-running. Though PC-version is different from Sega-Saturn in many points, I succeeded in making new record.

Several major tactics (or kind of technique) is as following:

[1]To avoid Boos' 3rd encounter, I go to underground just after he's drunk and down. I re-visit the gift shop to get coins and tickets in the latter half of the game.

[2]When I go to ruins, to save time, I take risk of encountering Rebecca. If you encounter her, you must restart speed-run.

[3]I don't carry meat so as not to stink in front of Witch Itah. And I show her milk in the bottle instead of showing cow's photograph.

[4]After I get Fairy-Dust, I don't go deep into the Forest of the Spirits at that moment. It's just because I want to save time.

[5]Though you might be surprised, you dont need to give Holy Woman a sword. Instead of giving her a sword, just ask about Statue in her back. Then you can go to meet dwarf. But, pay attention not to carry a sword when you meet dwarf, or they start a cadence.

[Extra Glitch] Instead of giving Holy Woman a sword... Choose "fascinated" repeatedly in conversation. or Ask her about rusty sword you have. (yeah, the sword which is "rusty") In both way, you can go to meet dwarf.
