Since it seems that no one else has done a 100% Run on this game before, I suppose I’ll take up the task soon. Though, I have a few questions before I even THINK about starting.
- My computer might be too slow to use a capture card, and I know that I’ll probably need video evidence to submit my run. What should I do?
- Do I need to reach Level 100?
- Would I be able to submit my Run Time as my Total Play Time on the Save File? I certainly won’t be able to do the entire run all at once, since school doesn’t give me enough time for that. It probably depends on whether or not my Play time is still counting while I’m watching the Credits, I suppose.
- Just to clarify, this run is only counted towards Story Mode, correct? I just want to make sure whether or not I also need to do Challenge Mode to unlock Ultima Weapon and Pandora’s Gear.
- Just to clarify something else: Is this also supposed to be a Collectathon of sorts? In other words, will I need to Synthesize and buy all items? If so, then that will probably double the amount of time it will take me to do this.
- This one is less of a question and more me just specifying the run, but I hope you don’t mind me playing on Beginner Mode, since it’s the only Mode I’ve beaten this game on, and I’ve only played through the game once, but I’ll still try my best to do this. Anyways, I think that’s all. Let me know if you have any other questions for me. Thank you, and good day.
1: Since allowing Emulators for this game we do now require video evidence of all runs submited
2/3/4/5: Will go over these points with @Drazerk & @Desa3579 and get back to you shortly
6: For 100% I strongly believe any difficulty should be allowed and we will create a variable which will beside the final time categorizing or showing what difficulty the runner played on compared to the normal sub category version you see for Any%
Always hoped someone would take up the challenge of trying to 100% this in SS once we have set some groundrules for this category ill be very eager to see how you go with this!
Alright, thanks! I was mainly asking about #1 since I won’t be using an Emulator, mainly because I’m more comfortable playing on the DS, and because my computer is really slow, which is why I also mentioned not having a Capture Card, but I’ll probably figure something out. I also just remembered that some Missions have what I like to call “Hidden Heartless”- the ones that, when you enter the area they spawn in, a message pops up saying, “Caution! A powerful enemy is near!” (i.e. Zip Slasher, Invisible, Dustflier, etc.) Whether or not I’ll be fighting these depends on 2 factors:
- Defeating them fills up the Mission Gauge, because some of them are completely arbitrary to fight when it comes to this. (i.e. The first Zip Slasher you encounter and the Dustflier are both necessary for filling up the Mission Gauge in their respective Missions, but the Invisible you encounter in both Missions 70 and 90 are completely arbitrary.)
- Defeating the ones that are also arbitrary counts towards completing the game. This also kind of goes back to my 5th question in my previous post, since the drops might be useful for any potential synthesis. But yeah, I just had a feeling that, with the right circumstances, I could probably beat this in around 10 hours or more, and that I could be the first one to SPEEDRUN completing this game. Anyways, though, thanks for the response, I’ll try to see if I can get a Capture Card or find an alternate way to record my DS Screen soon. Once I do that, I’ll probably start my run not too long afterwards.
Hello everyone
ColeQuil has been working flat out over the last few months to perfect the Load Remover & Auto Splitter to the point where we feel comfortable it is ready to be used as our main timing method for Emulator runs.
Please checkover the Game Rules as we have updated some requirement
