I have a hard time emulating a mouse, so i wondered if i can use the common romhack where you control the game with a normal gamepad

Hello LinkXNess. I'm sorry to say that typically romhacks aren't allowed to be used in exchange of the actual game or rom. They can be good to use for practice, but as far as competitive attempts they typically aren't accepted on leaderboards. I actually had a romhack made for this game when I was running it to practice, but when doing runs always returned to the original game.

What kind of issues are you having with emulating a mouse?

The mouse is very unresponsive and i have the feeling that even on the slow ingame setting the cursor is kind of "Hopping" and "skipping", if you know what i mean. Sorry, i dont really know how to explain it
