End Timer

Hey all!

We are new runners of the game (2 players). We did a first 'labbing' kind of run yesterday to try to figure stuff out and got a 1:53. Game looks really fun though ! Quick question: when exactly are we supposed to time the end? We've seen both when killing the second eye and when the constellation appears on the leaderboard.

Also thanks for the guide, it has been really helpful.

Hey Hiken and others,

Best wishes for 2024! I've recently been doing runs with friends and solo. The game is very fun to speedrun. Both guides by Drak and BJAC0CKX are neat.

Has there been any consensus on when to end the timer? I've been stopping it myself when the second eye is killed. It feels very natural to end the timer there. (sorry for the necro =P)

Hey! I think it's fair to stop the timer as soon as the healthbar on the eyeballs is empty, just as the mini cutscene starts to play. That's what we did on our 4-player run, and like you said it seems very natural.

It looks like this is done in the majority of runs now, but perhaps we could put it into the game rules and make it official?

Just to be safe I've been stopping my timer on the constellation lately. Because that's what Annaka did in 1p. But it makes more sense on stopping the timer on the eyes.

Also, thanks for the good luck! I mostly finished grinding single player runs for now. I will probably do some runs in the future with my friends here and there.

I changed the rules to end on killing the Royal Pupils. (checked with Hiken and Bjack)

Updates to the Leaderboard

Hi all,

Quick update on the leaderboard!

  • The 100% Category has been removed/archived. Nobody has uploaded any runs to this category in the past few years and it genuinely seems not fun to play.
  • Rules have been revamped to be more clear. Timer ends on killing the Royal Pupils.
