In my most humble opinion I don't think that should be necessary. What would prevent anyone with knowledge on the game to run and submit runs on this category, that has no differences in mechanics and just more lives?
Put some effort. Believe me, the game can be easily learned in less than one week. if I, and 104 other people could, you also can.
Maybe you can run those 30 lives and keep it to yourself, then get into the any% category.
Ánimo.
Yeah, i don't see much of a point like Viruse has said already. I would recommend using the code to get used to playing the game though. Certainly no harm in that. That's how I used to play as well. Truthfully, this isn't a hard run to learn on a beginner level and there is a great tutorial for beginner strats under the guides section here too. Give it a thourough watch, and work your way through the various tech until you start to feel good about your gameplay, and then ditch that code. Won't take you long at all to get the feel for the game. the first real milestone is getting that deathless run.
Also, if you have any questions about how any of the tech, or mechanics of the game work, and how to execute things always feel free to ask. Myself and everyone else here in the Contra community will be more than happy to help you out. We can even give demonstrations if you like. I'm always excited to see anyone get into running this game. best of luck.
