As of this post, all full game runs will be timed using In Game Time (IGT).
This change is being made to create a level playing field for original hardware and emulators to compete on, as emulators have consistently and noticeably faster loading times when compared to runs played on a physical PSP.
With this change, time spent in menus will no longer count towards the run's length, allowing the purchasing, selling and equipping of Aircraft, Weapons and Parts with no time penalty. However, it is still expected that runners act as if they are speedrunning in situations that do not affect IGT, that is to say, do not sit AFK in a menu or with the game paused. Runs deemed to be in violation of the spirit of this rule by a moderator may be rejected.
Additionally, for Any% and Any% New Game+, all new runs are required to perform a save when prompted after the results screen of the final mission. This will display the total length of the campaign run, without milliseconds, which will match the sum of each mission's IGT and be used to verify the run's legitimacy. A mismatch of these values, without extenuating circumstances such as accounting for the IGT added from restarting a mission, will result in rejection.
These rules are subject to future change, consult the relevant category rules for up-to-date information.
Good luck to all runners
