Modded version of Enemy Zero for speedrunning. Key features with this release:
- Cutscenes outright skipped or drastically shortened
- Saving/loading drastically shortened
- PS4 Controller support with DS4Windows profile (also works with vanilla version)
- Windowed mode support with DXWnd (also works with vanilla version)
- Full detailed walkthrough
- Save files for entire Easy mode run
- Save file for starting a new game with Hard mode unlocked
- Maps (both from ingame and redrawn with routes marked)
- Batch file for cutting own videos
- Finishing the game just has the escape cutscene; the clip compliation one has been cut. However, finishing the game on Hard will play the bonus cutscene after escape one
Getting Started:
- Download all files from link (if no need for utility for video files, skip "Video Trimmer" folder or delete after downloading): https://mega.nz/folder/t6dnmTyB#w4uYD2lbFvSMubO1V55fjw
- Note: Discs are numbered from Disc 0-3, not Disc 1-4.
- Install the game from your original PC copy using Disc 0
- Move the EazyEZ utility to the install folder on your hard drive and run it. Use the menu options to remove the audiolog recaps, unlock Hard Mode and more (help file included with the tool)
- Burn the downloaded ISOs to discs or mount EZERO_1.ISO as a virtual disc (Windows 10: right click on it and select "Mount") and launch game as normal
- For Windowed mode support: extract DxWnd from Utitlites folder to location of your choice. Run "dxwnd.exe" (may need to right click and "Run as Administrator"), then go to File and Import. Select the "Enemy Zero.dxw" file and hit okay. Right click on the new icon and select "Modify", use the three dots next to "Path" to browse to the folder you installed the game to then select "EZERO.exe". Press Ok to save. Launch the game through DxWnd, not the game shortcut.
- For PS4 controller support, use DS4Windows and import provided profile. If use accessibilty feature "Sticky Keys", ensure it is turned off as Shift is one of the default keyboard bindings.
- For learning the game, Disc 0 has the Tutorial and this option will ONLY show up on Disc 0's menu. Otherwise, insert/mount Disc 1 to start a new game (or Disc 2/3 if save file is on that part of the game).
- When prompted to swap discs, eject or unmount current disc and insert next disc into same drive or mount to same drive letter as E0 does not check multiple disc drives.
- Note: Starting a new game deletes your old save file. To back it up first, copy the file "VOICEREC.DAT" from the folder you installed the game to (you can do this backup/restore with EazyEZ)
- No ingame timer for end of game, will need external timer (e.g. LiveSplit).
