Hello everyone! As some of you may have noticed, recently we have created a brand-new category extension: All Battles. This category extension involves having the runner do an Any% Glitchless run, but this time they have to duel every single unique deck in the game. This means beating every opponent, including all the Club Trainers, Imakuni, and even a round at the Challenge Cup!
The full rules of the category can be seen here. https://www.speedrun.com/pkmntcgext?h=all-battles&rules=category&x=jdzzp5rd
The rules of this speedgame have been updated! Most of these rule updates are just to clean up language and formatting - for example the allowable platforms rules are now in the "Game Rules" section so we don't have to list it repeatedly in every category's specific rules. However there are a few rule changes worth noting.
- NSO is an officially allowed platform, when configured with the "classic feel" filter to set the frame rate properly.
- Clarity on what "sensible button mapping" means (can't map two buttons to the same key)
- Clarity that soft and hard resetting along with saving and quitting are all allowed for all categories
- The language that said "technically it's not a world record if you skip the tutorial" is gone, because it's stupid and nobody observed that in practice. Congratulations to GTNTG, now even more officially the world record holder in Any% Glitchless!
Finally, the biggest change. We are experimenting with allowing turbo with only the B Button, with a cap of 12 Hz. This is to allow the game to be more accessible to those who have repetitive stress injuries and/or wish to avoid them. The B button allows players to skip through menus, but it does not allow players to select any menu options - this prevents using the turbo feature as a method to perform frame-precise RNG manipulation. The speed limit was set based on what other games have allowed, and to ensure that turbo players are not at a significant advantage over players who choose to manually mash B and A alternately. If you have any questions or want to discuss this rule, hop onto our Discord.
Thanks, -606
Due to recent developments in RNG manipulations, we have decided to create a new category that allows all RNG manipulations and minor glitches. What this means for regular Glitchless is that the RNG manipulation for leader enemies like club leaders and grandmasters with the use of a timer or metronome is now disallowed. We will still allow RNG manipulations for regular club members.
If you have a run on the Glitchless leaderboard that manipulates leaders that we haven't moved over yet, please notify 000aj on speedrun.com or on Discord (000aj#7205) so these runs can be moved to the correct category.
