Good day! I have the PC version of the game and I wanted to try speedrunning races with mouse controls, but so far I made 3 attempts, and each of them ended with the game crashing. 1st time was when I pressed the key to enter the final street race. 2nd time was after finishing the first race. 3rd time was when I set Compatibility to Windows Vista and was entering the 1st city race. The game never crashed when I played normally, and I have all gold medals and platinum trophies. My guess is that I may press the button to enter a race faster than the game manages to load the needed assets. My PC was only assembled in July this year and is powerful enough to run modern games at a framerate above 60 FPS, so I highly doubt the PC is the problem.
My OS is Windows 10 64-bit.
I just attempted speedrunning while waiting ~2 seconds before pressing the button to start the next race, unfortunately the game crashed again, and before I could even complete all the street races. :(
BTW I recorded playthrough videos of the game too, and the game never crashed while I did. I use OBS Studio to record. OBS is definitely not the cause of crashes.
Changed game's resolution from maximum to minimum. Didn't wait between races. Still crashed during street races.
Another attempt, this time I didn't skip awarding cutscenes, clicking only after my dog's award appears. I managed to complete street, city and national races, and I was hoping I'd be able to have a complete run at last... But no. The game crashed after I attempted to start the 2nd world race. My last hope is not skipping anything. Of course that would hinder a SPEEDrun a lot, but that might be the only possible way for me. Plus, I don't know if any other PC users tried speedrunning the races, so I don't know if this is just how the game is or there's something wrong on my side.
I finally managed to make a complete speedrun, only skipping the beginning cutscene in the final race! Will soon submit the run.
I started wondering again about the game crashing between loading screens and race entering, and assumed it may be related to clicking on loading screens. I tried to purposefully crash the game like this, but even with rapid clicks the game kept working. I guess this is still related to skipping too many cutscenes.
