I was thinking about adding things like the first three intermissions (Stage 2, Stage 5, etc.), but I'm not sure how difficult that would be.

This is just something I'm thinking about as ideas for this game; it showcases more of the game other than just the 10,000 point goal.

I always liked the idea of having categories for third intermission, 9th key, and kill screen (if anybody can even record all the way to that last one). I think any of those three can be argued in some way or another to be the true "end" for this game. 10k should be moved to misc imo, due to it not even showing the whole first level.

I like the ideas. I might either:

1. Add each intermission as a main category.
2. Only have intermission 3 as a main category and the other intermissions and 10k as misc. categories.

Not sure where kill screen or 9th key could go.

I like idea #1. Intermission 1 is right after Stage 2, so it might be a good idea to stop the timer once the Strawberry level is finished. The same goes for Stage 5 (first apple) and Stage 9 (first Galboss).

9th key is Stage 21. It might count as the main game as well, even though it takes more time. Might be a good idea to keep track of splits, just in case one loses count.

The kill screen might be an extra, considering the amount of time it takes to reach 21-255. The first 20 levels might be more of a breeze from what I can tell. Once the bugged half of the maze appears after 255 levels, time is called.

I dont know, I like the 10K category as main, if not keep it as it has very competitive times. Besides that then yeah, I would love to see other category's, It would open up to new routes.

Having a kill screen category would be cool to see, but I'm not sure how many people are going to put in the hours to do so. Other categories would be cool to see though

Definitely need to add a category for stage 21

3,333,360 points would be a cool category, 4 or so hours isn't that long(for me).

@loz, that is what is considered a Perfect Game. Eat all the ghosts, all the fruits, all Pac-Dots, and all the hidden dots in the kill screen with every single life.

If you think there should be a 21st board category and your willing to put the time into doing the run, like this post here. Just to get an idea of how many people are going to do it. If we get enough people hopefully the moderators will see. I don't reckon this community is big enough to have a "Perfect Score Category." You want categories people can actually do, not categories that have one or two people going for it.

How about something a little more down to earth, how about just a 3 board category, it is short enough to be do-able in a smaller community like this but still is challenging and long enough. Also I mean by 3-Board is be the fastest to clear 3 boards, no point requirement.

I reckon we should do board five then. Because with level 1 you have a pattern, with levels 2-4 you can have the same pattern. And with level 5 there is a pattern but it's a lot harder to pull off, plus the ghosts and yourself are going faster

The last thing I think we all want is the game to be flouded with different categories. We should only have one or two more categories max

I have to agree with chef, we shouldn't flood new categories. Instead we should choose 1 or 2 new categories.
