The game is significantly harder, despite having fewer presentation delays, when you play through Adventure on a file where it's been completed before. On a new file stage 1 gives you a free shot and is entirely composed of natural pairs, stage 2 gives you a free fruit right away, the first boss gives you a free hit and goes down in one less shot, the second boss doesn't spawn totems for the first two hits, and RNG for the entire game is significantly more agreeable. None of this is true on a file where it's been completed before.

I'm not saying that one should be mandatory over the other, more that... no adjustments should be made and it should be dealer's choice. If a player can beast the fuck out of it on a file that isn't new and get a crazy competitive time, that motherfucker earned it.

Side note, my latest run was new file because I'm sick of trying to beast mode the less agreeable run.

So, about the "new game = new file" rule.
