In level 2, can you clip through the gate, instead of saving the hostages? I saw there is a gate clip on the amazon level, so, could it work perhaps?

8 months late, sorry... yes you can, from what testing I've done you need 2 enemies there to push you through. And having them spawn near the gate is quite annoying to do. So it's possible yes, but not really faster unfortunately.
