we did discuss splitting categories when the glitch was discovered, but ultimately it was decided a split was not necessary.
currently the only way to do this is to enable "time without loads" as a timing method in settings > rules, which will allow runners to fill out the "load removed time" field when submitting. empty time columns don't show on the leaderboard, so effectively the console runs will still only show time with loads, with the one stipulation being that both of these fields are in the run submission form regardless of category, so moderators will need to make sure the correct field is filled out when verifying runs.
edit: i see what you mean now about every run defaulting to LRT after adding the timing method. really stupid bug on sr.c's part, i think the only solution is to manually edit every run :/
category scope for variables still shows archived categories first in the dropdown, then level categories then full categories, which seems backwards to me
trying to edit a category named "Any%" or "100%" shows this error in every game i moderate?
runs on profile pages display archived variables/subcats (but not archived categories this time thankfully :P)
small issue... verifiers and moderators can delete anyone's runs now, not just their own??? and there's no reject button on already verified runs which is what i would have expected to be there instead
hijacking this thread to suggest a different category called "Beat Shoyhi"
awe games logo on the box, this is https://www.speedrun.com/tssmpc on mac, select "Macintosh" as your platform when you submit.
~5 minutes, though installing the game to the xbox hard drive will increase that gap by another ~2 minutes. if you have access to ANY xbox, use it.
set the default for all runs without a value
as far as variables go, this is already possible: if you don't want every level to use the same configuration of variables you have to create a separate variable for every single level and apply it to only that level - obviously not the cleanest solution, which is why i agree with @diggity that the site should just let you be selective with variables/categories instead of being one or all. maybe using a similar UI to the leaderboards' new variable filter menu would work?
in the meantime you could try the old page here: https://www.speedrun.com/runsawaitingverification
nothing to comment other than these are all really good changes!!! keep it up
edit: actually, there is one thing - the misc arrow doesn't really make itself clear as a button that shows you more categories, maybe it could use text saying "Misc" or "More" etc just to make it obvious.
also bug report! ctrl+click should let you open a run in a new tab, but this seems to not work if you're highlighting the first column with the player name and comment.
buying trogdor then using the unplug glitch in practice mode so that every song will play trogdor instead is faster than playing through the career normally, so there's a separate category banning the glitch. check my expert xbox run for reference
from what i've seen this is usually handled in a public discord server for the game (or series), where everyone can enter the conversation rather than it just being a one-on-one between a runner and a mod. having a public leaderboard discussion outlet like this allows a more broad opinion of the community to be heard and reflected on the page - e.g. it's more likely the mods will add a category if several people are running/requesting it, rather than one bozo who did a run and dipped.
moved to the "restricted" subcategory here: https://www.speedrun.com/bfbbce#Cheat
submitting a restricted run to both the restricted and unrestricted categories is cringe. just do another run.
this seems like a mess that should be cleaned up regardless of the solution as long as it's fair to everyone. what you suggested isn't fair: for example, if a player submits 1m 00s 000ms and you change it to 1m 00s 999ms, this is making an assumption that the run is slower than any other time submitted within 1m 00s with ms, which isn't necessarily correct.
as it stands, the leaderboard rankings appear really arbitrary when some runs have accurate IGT, while some runs have real time copied to IGT, and some lack video and are impossible to retime.
here's my suggestion: scrap ms from all runs and let ties be ties. the rankings still wouldn't be perfect, since some runs are still using real time in the IGT column, but it would be better than what's currently there. but the takeaway is that times on a leaderboard need to be accurate within reason for the rankings to have any meaning, so if it's not reasonable to time every run with ms, don't use ms at all.
the only archive that doesn't make the site messy is copying to a google doc.
