Hey! I went to go check the WR History section of the stats page of Clubhouse Games: 51 Worldwide Classics, and it... doesn't look so good. I can only assume it's because there's so many main game categories, but the WR history just doesn't show up, you can kinda see a little bit of the graph but none of the times, and the category tickboxes are covering what little you can see.
I'd like to be able to see the WR history, is my point! This hasn't always been a problem, I assume it's some new site update that clashed with it.
Of course! I plan on running this whether or not sr.c wants to host that run or not, and I'm glad to compile and maintain a leaderboard if there's interest. I was curious of the specific reason it wasn't hosted on sr.c, since I couldn't think of one myself. It feels weird for DuoLingo to count as a quiz game, but it's better to have a strict rule on that kind of thing than a loose one.
I've been ramping up to do a DuoLingo speedrun (English speaker running Spanish, if you're curious) and I noticed it doesn't have a speedrun.com page. It's a pretty well-known site so I'm going to assume there's a good reason for that, and not that absolutely nobody has ever requested a page for it. Could someone explain to me what that reason is (or point me to a thread that explains it)?
I do think a Discord server could help the game gain traction, I think it's really underrated as a speedrun game and just in general
I noticed some of the options have missing/the wrong names, you can find what each fruit is called here https://strategywiki.org/wiki/The_Dog_Island/Scent_List
This is really cool!! I feel like this could be fleshed out to help out people like me with bad reaction times for this minigame, to include the paths that happen if you choose the bats. It shouldn't be that important now though, since it looks like we can just follow the optimal path (RLLLRLMLLM)!
Due to the large ties at the tops of leaderboards and precision of individual levels, we've decided that runs under 1 minute will be timed with milliseconds from here on out. This may be extended to all individual level runs in the future. The exact timing goes from the first frame of the play button being selected to the first frame on which "Winner!/Too bad.../1st/2nd/3rd/4th/Clear!/Failed..." appears, or on the first frame the results screen begins to appear for Sliding Puzzle, Bowling, Golf, and Shooting Gallery. This only applies to Finish and Win runs; Master runs still end on the first frame of the "You've mastered X!" textbox. If you believe there is an inaccuracy in your run's time, please message me or another mod on speedrun.com or on Discord.
I did that as a test submission, but it said I couldn't submit it because I didn't put enough runners' names in
I'm trying to add a category to a game I moderate that would allow people to submit runs with 2-4 players to the same leaderboard. I've seen some marathon runs allow different amounts of players to do them, is that something non-marathons can do? If so, how would I do it?
Can I get a Category Extension Tag on https://www.speedrun.com/chg51ce ? Also, once this tag is added, will I be able to link it with the main game? I'm a moderator for both, if that matters.
In hindsight I probably should have selected the spot where Gola Highlands would be on the list, but I didn't quite know where that was and didn't want to waste any more time. If it happen again I'll report back here!
I visit Tao at 1:43:20 (1:40:56 on the timer), use Boris to go from Gola to Pupsville at 1:44:20 (1:41:56), and then at 1:45:25 (1:43:01) I try to use Boris to go back to Gola and it doesn't show up on the list. Not sure how this glitch would be useful at all unless there was a way to reverse-engineer it to get to certain areas early.
I just finished a run where for a while, even after visiting Tao and using Boris to go from Gola to Pupsville, I couldn't use Boris to go to Gola Highlands. I managed to fix it by talking to Boris and exiting out without traveling. I lost enough time to that that it (maybe) killed sub-3, so this is as much a question (does anyone know what causes this?) as a point of warning.
Does anyone know/is there any way to find out what the longest verified run on this site is? I'm also interested in the longest WR on the site.
I'm pretty sure you need to hand all the items in to the collectors to get certain hats, so that's probably a part of the run. I'm just excited to see this game get some more attention!
Yeah, my main worry was that it might not be possible to complete all the quests, and the accessories are very difficult, like you said. I think I'm going to stay curious about if the category I described is even possible, but I don't think I or anyone wants to spend the time figuring that out.
Should the 100% category include doing every quest in the game and/or getting every clothing item/accessory in the game? This would obviously make it very hard to verify during and after the run that the quests have been completed, but I imagine it wouldn't be a run that people do often, so it would only be once in a blue moon that you have to keep track of everything. There's a handy guide over at https://strategywiki.org/wiki/The_Dog_Island/Diary_Entries outlining all the quests, so I feel like it'd be interesting to have both an All Scents category and a 100% category.
busting makes everything speed up, but aside from that no
