user friendly = character select for the start, fade out for the end.
i made a very short tutorial on this a long time ago, i will see if i can find the video.
But essentially its about getting your sprite partially into the wall and timing the UP press as the elevator reaches the wall.
Nothing outside of persision l+r / u+d are universally banned for NES speedruns as far as i know.
i like to refer to it as the dirty pixel, not sure about the actual details but I suspect it's both timing and spacing.
double jumping quite silly. hitting the jump button for 1 frame after jumping (the window to do the actual input is pretty gigantic, but somewhere around when you reach the peak of your jump/start descending, US version allows you to triple jump, the japanese version lets you go beyond.
so it's actually pretty simple, the start of the run is pure rng with the drops etc. And the actual glitch is performed by hitting jump as the screen transitions down, it's not super tight either.
so dxtr ran this catagory a bit, can't find his actual pb but here's his 8:55 from ESA2013
@starsmiley Have i met all the required criteria now to be added as a mod? https://www.speedrun.com/nosferatu
I can definitely add satrurn, not sure exactly on the how so bare with me while i figure it out.
Edit: Platform has been added, just need to figure out how to separate the boards.
mesen / fceux / nestopia are the most acceptable emulators, some boards do not allow mesen because of some minimal differences. For all of course use the most recent versions.
read, posted, seemed strange to post a run that wasn't going to be verified. @starsmiley
Am i doing something incorrectly? I have posted 2x and have been overlooked both times,
I think my request has been overlooked so here it is once again: Requesting to be added to the mods for Nosferatu (Snes), the current moderator has been inactive for over 6 years and the game is currently picking up some interest. https://www.speedrun.com/nosferatu

i say go for it, might give some of us a reason to play this again. also 56 might be a thing.
Hey red_fire,
I just now attempted to add you as a moderator but got the following error.
Error: red_fire257 must enable e-mail authentication before they can be added as a moderator. Tell them to go to Settings and enable "Require e-mail authentication".
can you take a look at your settings and enable what's needed? i will then add you as a mod.
nothing wrong, i just haven't had the time to watch and verify the videos yet, i'll probably do so on monday.
