Don't know if this is known since I haven't followed the speedruns of this game. So you can tow your tractor, if you do it when it's in neutral, it will go super fast, you change the speed using front loader arm. If you put it in gear before the rope, you can use gears to change speed. Also allows to drive underwater.

Works on current patch.

I already posted these in discord, but might as well post here.

Both strats are done on easy difficulty, so no idea how they work on other difficulties due to change in enemy speed. Also note that the enemy behavior seems to change if you reset, so to test the strats on run condition you need to load the last save instead.

Here you want to shoot Jack's leg as you leave the room, because this seems to take him longer to recover compared to shooting his chest for example. Then once you are downstairs shoot before you reach the clock. I don't know if the timing matters too much, since I've tried early and late, seems to work nonetheless.

Once you grab the head you can shoot to make sure Jack notices you, although depending when he dropped down this might not be needed.

After you pass the point where he would normally come through the door, shoot him to make sure he's not following you to the main hall, because then you won't be able to do the shadow puzzle.

As you can see I did four examples, where I just have the aiming reticle away from her. This seems to make her less aggressive/slower, so you can one cycle her. I got each of these first try starting from the mine save point, and haven't failed the one cycle since realizing this, except when I miss the first block altogether. The block timing isn't too precise it seems, as long as you get it. Doesn't have to be last second, although it is a bit faster if it is.

Same server is used for both games, but I thought I'd add the invite link here as well.

There's two new skips in the vocational block chapter, both are done the same way.

The first one is done as the Groom is chasing you, so it's risky and there's basically no room for error. It saves about 30 seconds. If you manage to do it, you need to save and quit after you get down so you can do the next skip, since otherwise the elevator will block you from dropping another floor.

Here's the next skip

As you see it's pretty much the same, except now you can do it without someone trying to kill you OpieOP .

Here's a setup I found that works well to get the drop

That is for the second skip. You need to hug the edge and inch yourself right until the camera moves forward. Then just turn and look a little right from the corner and walk backwards. If you did it right you land on the floor below.

The setup works similarly for the first skip, except you look left of the corner.

The trick is to use the chairs near the table to jump up to the table, while having your hitbox shrunk. I personally did this by angling myself like in the video, then holding the aimstick towards the table corner and spamming jump. I'm sure we can find good setups for both controller and keyboard.

After that you can use crouch to get past the window, I think it's faster to go to the other side of the window and use crouch then, you can then go around the other side to the skip. Once you get to the between the shelves, there's a small spot where you can expand your hitbox by accident, so be careful. When you get to the last wall you can just run hugging it and the skip is done.

Today Mattmatt10111 found a way to get to the high walls at the scaffolding from the window at the beginning. I realized from there you could do the old any% skips. It turned out to be faster than the current route, especially on PS4, thanks to the level loading slowly. Time save on PS4 seems to be 4-6 seconds. On PC the difference is much smaller, I managed to get to the basement area only 1s faster than my record run. There could be some minor optimizations though that'd make the route even faster. Here are the videos:

PS4

PC

PC video is spliced from couple of attempts, because it's pretty difficult to get solid run not being used to the route yet.

Explanation - you need to get the slow climb animation on the window and hold backwards the get on the window sill. From there you crouch and move to the left side of the window, then move left. You should be boosted up to the invisible ledge. You need to wiggle your way slowly out of the window until you can stand up. Then just jump left and backwards to get to another invisible platform. From there follow the outer edge of the scaffolding until you reach the other side.

On PS4 you then just run forward, you should land on a lamp while falling down to not die from fall damage, then head to the unloaded room.

On PC it's a bit trickier. You have to get to the corner and run off. If you do it right you'll land on the wall. You then need to take some steps back and crouch at the corner of two walls. Edge your way right from there while looking along the outer wall until you clip to the outside wall of the asylum. Then go little backwards and turn your camera around to make the level unload. You need to make the level unload at least once before dropping to survive the fall damage. As soon as you fall uncrouch and turn left again to head towards where the skip is.

I couldn't test xbox version, but xbox used to load too fast to do that PS4 strat, so I assume you would have to use the PC route.

This could be faster for insane and all chapters as well, still need to time it.

Here's a skip I found long time ago, pretty much after I found the theater skip. Video from september:

I had a talk about it with Romeo months ago, and we decided to not allow it, since it's kind of grey area. You get right at the edge of the unload zone to get the save trigger, and could easily go little bit too far and unload the map as you quit, which arguably is going OoB. Now I've seen first run trying to use it and that's exactly what happened.

There's also another sprinkler skip that's been known even longer. 24:50 on this run:

Same problem lies on that skip, so I never used it on a no OoB run.

Here's 2 skips that I failed on my run, so I'll post them here with little explanations.

This is in the prison right after the first document. Saves about 30s. I managed to do the first part on my run, but the biggest time save comes from jumping to the room with the next document. This can be tricky, since the ceiling unloads quickly, and you won't be able to jump long enough if that happens.

The first part is quite difficult as well, where you drop out of bounds on the edge to get past the gate. You need to be looking towards the cells, and slowly drop down to make sure you're close to the gate, then do some quick pause buffers and as soon as the level loads hit forward and left to get on top of the gate. Then you can either jump to the lockers or walk the edge of the wall.

From there on just do a running jump and pause quickly to let the hallway load, the unpause and try to jump immediately. Sometimes it works, other times not, haven't found 100% consistent way yet.

This one is right when you enter sewers, and vault over the beams. Saves 5-10s. You need to land on the slanted part of the floor to make your hitbox stay small. It's a bit tricky, I seem to get it maybe every other time. As soon as you land hit crouch twice, so you'll see if you succeeded or not. In case you didn't, it's better to move on since retrying takes too much time.

If you succeed, carry on on the slanted part of the floor towards the hole and once you get to the wall, you need to get to the hole without making the hitbox expand again. So hug the wall on the left side of the hole.

Here's another vault glitch. You vault to the wall to keep player hitbox from expanding. Then you just have to be extra careful to not go too far from the wall and make your way to the second radiator. When you get past it just look at the wall, jump up without pressing forward to make the map unload and jump left and forward to get to the staircase. You can also reach it without jumping, but since you can't see anything you need to experiment with it and find a way that works for you.

This skip saves 6s compared to old window clip strat and maybe 2-3s compared to the door jump to the staircase.

Finlandfinath9 years ago

New skip found by Albinohat, but I optimised it and made this video. Skip saves 12s compared to old route. For the door rider glitch you need to make sure you don't do a doorclip, instead keep the open door button pressed all the way until the door is closed and also keep pressing run button. You will see if it works by turning, if you are partly through the door but can't get trough it like in door clip, you have done it.

Then starts the hard part, hugging the wall without getting too far from it at any point so the player hitbox won't expand. Take the first little wall slowly up to the corner, then you can jump the next little wall to reach next corner. At this corner turn so you can run, then start running and look behind, this prevents you from being pushed out of the wall. You will hit a pole halfway, go slowly around it and run again while looking back. Next you hit the lock/chain on the fence. Again go around it and walk to the next corner. once you are past it you can pretty much run the rest of the way.

This is a new strat for female ward skip, that uses a glitch where you make the player hitbox stay smaller by jumping into a wall.

In the game when ever you vault over something, the hitbox gets smaller when you are in the air for some reason and by hitting a wall or any obstacle basically, you prevent it from growing to it's normal size.

By hugging the wall you can keep it smaller while moving. On this skip you just have to get to the corner of the hallway and jump up to make the map unload. Then just take a step forward to make sure you don't get stuck in the wall when it loads.

This skip seems a little slower than the one used on ps4, but should be faster than the one used on xbox and pc. Also it seems more consistent once you get used to it.

Here's a new way to get up on the walls, jump to the pipes with well timed pause buffer pushes you up. Saves 20-30 seconds on all platforms. The way it's done on the video is a little slower, you can T-bag your way to the vent room to be faster.
