Great job finding all these enemy de-spawns and the skip! By the way, it's possible to interrupt the cutscene conversations by taking out the shield right before landing in the trigger (or was in previous versions).
I think it's either a "boss rush", so any order, just kill bosses. Since it's IGT player can exit when DEFEATED from the last boss pops up and the item drop sound plays. or All bosses and talk to Percy, but that seems like just an extension of the current category.
Beating all bosses should be until the last boss has been beaten. Any order?
As interest in speedrunning JKQ grows and the leaderboard fills up, an important question arises: Which style of play do you find more compelling?
PURE – Skillfully playing as intended, relying on calculated strategies and facing RNG head-on.
FOUL – Exploiting every possible method to shave off time, from menu quit-outs to enemy de-spawns with manipulation and glitches yet to be discovered.
I had a run ruined by RNG; how do you handle those moments?
De-spawning enemies makes navigation too easy; do menu quit-outs influence the run too much?
Let's decide on the JKQ ruleset together. Share your thoughts.
I have a commentary on this run if anybody’s interested. Warning! Very nerdy.
My best pace shaves off ~80ms and I think 18.3xx is possible (but improbable) with this movement and pathing. I lose time to turning corners and last boost before the jump. For anybody wondering the last jump requires a brief Jump hold from the very end of the platform, a little longer than just tapping the button and doing two front flips the moment just before you reach the highest point of the jump, then I dive front flip a moment after the other trick ends and this may or may not help reach the ring early but it proved to work for me.
ah, this is unbeatable unless somebody starts jump boosting on the strides
