Look I understand that records without video proof no longer existing is shady. I get that deleting one's accounts with said runs is shady too. But I just don't feel that's damning enough evidence here. As tako has already said, this is not the first time the guy has done this (Baize/Baize86 was his old alias).
I feel with the current evidence presented here, you were better off to simply politely request the time to be taken down because the video no longer exists.
Edit: the matter has been resolved. As tako and I guessed it was a matter of sumpura's times being removed from other leaderboards because his accounts were deleted and all the runs they contained. It was confusion on the OP's end and I'm glad we were able to at least clear up that misunderstanding.
I've said my piece back in Revenge of Shinobi (which was important for me as a Super Mod for said game) so I won't repeat most of it here.
I do strongly urge that further evidence be presented beyond just your skepticism of sumpura deleting all his accounts since you are claiming sumpura faked his runs. This isn't the first time the runner in question has deleted his accounts.
However the run in question is the current stated WR so I imagine it's going to be scrutinized much moreso than normal so it's up to the mods themselves if they want to remove the run by virtue of the video no longer existing.
I'm not the most knowledgeable about Retroarch so I'm not sure what most of these do but I imagine that at the very least frame delay probably works the exact same way as Mega SG's zero delay (changes fps from 59.9228 to 60 to account for any frame delay in inputs).
I can ask Zaxon or Joeybaby what settings they use in some of their runs, but the safe bet would be to stick with the default settings since that is arguably the most accurate to console judging by the discussions that took place with the Ducktales 2 community
Obviously not really something you need to do until you start reaching below the 12:20 threshold where ties can start happening but the option should be there if you wish to use it.
I will probably link the NES emulator guide that has been posted on other leaderboards to the rules tab to ensure people are using the right emulators at some point when I have more time. If there are irregularities people notice with the game running on any emulator currently established to be accurate for speedrunning, you are free to mention them so I become aware of them.
Anyway the mod team has been shaken up slightly and I am now appointed as a moderator. So with that said, moving forward, any submission will be thoroughly looked over by yours truly to ensure we don't have another situation like this happen again. This includes runs verified by other mods. Should be easy since this board is currently very inactive (like pretty much every other game I moderate).
However, do expect verifications by me to be slow because of this but I'm sure there will be no complaints on that note. I value my spare time.
Going to leave this thread open if people have any further concerns that need to be brought up but next time a new thread pops up complaining about the old mod teams' ineptitude because they watched LoanSharkJoe's video, it is automatically getting locked AND deleted. You have been warned.
Discord linked. Feel free to come over there and ask any further questions you all might have.
I've linked the discord on the side (and hopefully it's not temporary), it's the best way to contact us. But yes, I'll be getting around to looking at the run over the weekend and make sure everything is good.
Yeah I'm not sure what file type the video was when SeanCass submitted them but the twitch VODs do exist for both of his runs if you search for them on there.
Gusnation told me about it so yeah at the very least I am aware of it.
It would make for a really nice new category to add to the game.
Only issue with that is that you can't select it from the get go from power on afaik. You need to beat the game at least once to get access to it.
An easy solution would be to just get a save state made at the credits or something to do actual attempts on it but that is a slippery slope to go down as such a decision could carry potential undesired side effects like tampering with any potential RNG in the run.

After a thorough investigation of the difficulty differences across the 3 versions (US, JP, PAL) here's how they operate and will be reflected as such on the leaderboard from now on:
- JP (Normal) and PAL (Easy) = US (Children)
- JP (Hard) and PAL (Hard) = US (Easy)
- JP (Very Hard) and PAL (Very Hard) = US (Normal)
- JP (Crazy Hard) and PAL (Crazy Hard) = US (Hard)
Since all 4 difficulties are readily available from the get-go on the US version, we are aligning the difficulties from JP/PAL to be more in line with its US counterpart as shown above to prevent any further confusion.
This decision was made because some PAL runs were being passed off as Easy mode runs when its true difficulty is the equivalent to US Children difficulty. This more or less happened due to confusion and a lack of information on the difficulty differences but Children difficulty vs Easy difficulty with the US version carries huge differences like...
- No final escape sequence in Children difficulty (I thought this was version specific, this is incorrect)
- Health values are noticeably lower in Children difficulty
For these 2 reasons above, US (Children), PAL (Easy) and JP (Normal) MUST be treated as a seperate category from the currently established "Easy" category.
Please keep this in mind when submitting runs in the future for this game. If you wish for a "Children" or "Normal" category to be made, feel free to request one in the forums here.
As for the Hard mode category, JP/PAL runners must set the difficulty to "Crazy Hard".
Subcategories
First things first, I've split up console from emulators and all other versions including Steam, Virtual console, and the very recent Sega Classics Collection. Emulators have been found to have a few notable advantages over console including...
- Faster loading times during black screen transition
- Significantly reduced lag
- Inherently faster performance throughout the run (at least 60 frames saved on emu over console)
Given the point where the game is at right now, these differences do matter and thus the splitting into subcategories became a warranted decision.
Sadly banning certain emulators like Kega Fusion wouldn't work as further tests with Bizhawk turned up with even more jarring differences than Kega so we decided on splitting them was the way to go.
As for Virtual Console, Steam and the Sega Classics collection, they all play their retro games off an emulator so lobbing them together in the same subcategory made alot of sense.
Their are other versions including Xbox 360 and the PS3 version (both of which are gotten through buying from their online stores). We are undecided whether they too fall in the same subcategory so we will hold off a decision on them until I do my own research on that.
The Switch to SDA Timing
I made a tweet on this subject so I'll simply link that here on why we felt this change was necessary.

Just informing you guys, there is a discord for most of the series. It can be found here:
Yes you guys too. This discord is for the whole series aside from PS2 Shinobi and Nightshade since they have their discord already.
