Hey, was curious if the collection on PS4 has slightly faster load times compared to the original PS4. Couldn't find a thread of information on this.
As of now, turns out you really have to blow up your entire Switch data with a whole initialize. Sucks, I know.
You also need to have a physical copy of the game. Digital is gonna automatically be 1.2 during the download; no way around it. (as of this post anyway) BEFORE INITIALIZING: If you plan to save any data and somehow have a spare Switch lying around, I recommend transferring your saved user account and game data to that switch if you have any precious feelings towards that 100% file of 120 shrines/900 Korok seeds or whatever. MicroSD cards aren't gonna help much; only able to save pics/vids/album stuff.
This is also just something I heard recently, but depending when you bought SMO, your cart could be 1.2 if you bought one of the later copies produced. idk if this is completely true or not, but might be worth getting in touch with an earlier/potential 1.0 copy, if applicable. I'll post if I can find any further confirmation.
So one thing I've noticed and should share is that you can initialize the console without deleting save data in Maintenance Mode (Turn off Console, turn back on by holding Power and Volume Up + Down to access Maintenance Mode).
This resets everything including software updates. Saved game data, accounts, pictures, videos WILL be fine tho, it won't get erased. However, I have ran into the issue that you're required to update to the latest version if you want to play, despite the fact it's sitting at 1.0.0. So that option's out and I assume this is just part of the ordeal with Switch Ver 5.0.2 that was patched in the past month or because it's kept track of your prior gameplay history and is preventing you to go back to an earlier version... idk. But hey, I would love to be proven wrong if anyone can manage to bypass that roadblock.
Gonna test out a microSD card soon to see if a full-blown factory reset is required to play 1.0.0. (Don't want to lose data on certain games I've already put in hundreds of hours on)
I've been informed during HDlax1's run at SGDQ 2017, one of the guys said that in the Japanese version, your vacuum is stronger in New Game +. I don't know if he meant that genuinely in Hidden Mansion mode, or that JPN New Game + is superior to ENG New Game +. (This is said about 49 seconds in the run)
I don't know... he could be right or maybe he fumbled his words, but I just want to confirm something for sure: Is the vacuum stronger in JPN NG+ or is the strength of the vacuum in NG+ the same in both ENG/JPN versions?
