Deaths do not contribute to your current time so it would only be accurate if you were deathless
Allowed commands from the rules: -Any bind that is accessible from the menu -sv_player_funnel_into_portals binding (checkbox in the menu) -toggle_duck binding (default controller bind) -cl_showpos 1 -r_drawviewmodel 0 -binds for sensitivity -save/load on one key binding -custom named save binds -demo plugin related binds
The problem with using a controllers is that there are many parts of this run that require you to have fast and precise camera movement, which just isn't going to happen realistically with a controller. You can certainly get good times with it, and probably get sub 3, but controller will always have a disadvantage to m&k in 1st person games.
The leaderboards are officially going to be switching over to IGT. We will be giving everyone some time to update their runs on the leaderboard before we make the switch. Please make sure to do so if you care about your spot on the leaderboard!
There has been a complication in the transitioning of the leaderboards to IGT. In order for us to make the full switch, all runs which do not have IGT already will be obsoleted by any run that does. Do you guys want us to go through with the change anyways? I will personally go through as many runs as I can to update their times if we do make the transition, but I feel like this is something that the community should definitely have a say in. http://www.strawpoll.me/11743352
After discussing with the community, there has been a rule change on speedrun.com. From now on, all runs that do not contain In Game Time will be rejected, and IGT will hold priority over RTA for leaderboard submissions. I would like to encourage all of you to re-submit your times with IGT if possible.
Pretty sure the only reason there was one for the alpha was because technically it was a different game. Supertruck runs are not actually interesting to run or watch, as you make literally 0 use of the whole time-stops-when-you-stop thing, since if you stopped moving, it would be slower. The only thing that could be considered "special" about it, is that it means you can't use the portable truck, which means no portable truck boosts, but even then, the category would be more interesting with a different required utility.
Technically yes, but it is up to the runners of no ability to decide if they want to submit their times to the Any% leaderboard.
I think the rules for timing should be upon selection of the 1st chapter, and end whenever pressing 2 on the final level. This is better IMO because, first of all, it makes it easier for everyone to start and stop the timer at the same time, (start at the same time you click ch 1, end when you hit 2 on final level.) Second of all, ending on the last input can have complications with the wrestling section of this game, because you could potentially just dive in the beginning of the level and hit trump, and that be your last input.
@havrd Sorry about that! I just went to go check because I was curious one day, and I saw that it was inactive, and I just assumed you had created it but forgotten to do anything with it. I didn't think it would have been just created at the time I checked.
Can you make a category for the wrestling portion of this game? I have a run of it up on my youtube channel already.
I would like to request to become a mod of http://www.speedrun.com/Mr.President. The current mod has not created any categories or leaderboards for the game yet, and I would like to take over and do it so that I may start submitting my times and managing the board properly.
EDIT: I didn't realize the board was just created whenever I checked, my bad. He has began to create leaderboards for it.
In my opinion, I think 25% should be kept as a category, because it provides a cool scenario where you can try and skip platforms in some places to save time in others, with could lead to 2 players both having really good times taking 2 different routes. I think that low% should be renamed to 25% and a low% category be added where the requirement is 17-18% (depending on what is deemed possible.)
Made one because Kona suggested it, sounded like a good idea. Feel free to join no matter your skill :)
