@Spagettd When loading in each level there is a seemingly frame perfect window where you can use the skip cutscene buttons to skip entire sections of the game. This happens at the very start of the game and between every level. So I was mashing "A" and "Start" as fast as possible hoping to get the skip.
I got it on level 1 and decided to play through the rest of the game, and then I got lucky and got the full game skip on level 3.
It is possible to skip the entire game but I have not achieved that yet!
Last year, a TASer named Dr.RNG discovered that with a series of frame perfect inputs at the start of each cutscene you can skip entire levels. Using this we may be able to skip the entire game, potentially bringing the speed run to under a minute!
After playing around with this some myself, I was able to replicate it on a few levels. However, I am not fully sure what the specific timing is to achieve the skip. I also had to press 'start' & 'A' rapidly to get it to work. Using that I was able to instantly warp to level 3.
If this can be consistently used to skip the game, I suggest that we create a separate category for it and the full-game run. Using the skip is 'Any%' and playing each level is 'Any% All Levels'.
Please see Dr.RNG's video below:
Things are about to get a lot crazier than the level 4 skip. There's a player named Dr.RNG, who discovered that every level can be completely skipped. I'm going to create a separate thread for that.
See Dr.RNG's video here:
A huge skip was discovered in 2023 around the start of level 4. Allowing you to skip the entire level.

It appears that this has not been done by a human in any run as of posting this.
Thank you so much to BLiNX_PERSON, OtakuTAS, and ViGadeomes for discovering this.
