I have submitted a forum post in which I detailed a request to change the Any% rules. Instead of getting a reply, my run has been moved to "Any% Cheat". I did not use any cheats in my run, though.

Glitches are not cheats. Glitches are allowed in Any%. Instead of moving any runs that use glitches to a "glitched / cheated Any%", consider instead moving the 100% runs to a "100%" category. After all, "Any%" implies what level of the game is completed or how it is done (excluding cheating, which is not the same as using glitches) does not matter.

To me, it seems rather strange to have 100% runs in an Any% category and an Any% run in a "Any% Cheat" category. Of course, I didn't use any cheats and this is probably not disputed, but calling the category "Any% Glitched" would've been entirely obviously redundant as Any% implies glitches are allowed.

Please consider renaming the categories to reflect on what their rules mandate. Requiring 100% completion of the game is called 100%, and beating the game with any amount of completion with any number of glitches is called Any%. "Any% Glitched" is not a thing; "Any% Glitchless" is.

I've only just started digging into the mechanisms behind the various glitches in this game. I don't know a lot about them yet, but what I do know I'll post here.

If a large number (i.e. 2500) gets shifted off-screen using the Character Adaptation Buttons and the Comma Glitch, the game crashes.

High stat numbers seem to be tied to warping you to a particular day:

2500 attack ==> day 0 2500 defense ==> day 1 2500 vitality ==> day 2 2500 charisma ==> day 2 2500 stamina ==> day 1 2500 magicka ==> day 1 Reducing magicka to 125 gave me a quest (...) and warped me to day 4 2500 agility ==> day 125 (possibly to be interpreted as day -= 4)

Your selected skin color so far has always turned into the hair & skin color after changing Stubble with the Comma Glitch.

Stubble changing with the Comma Glitch seems to be entirely deterministic. Thus it seems as though the only difficulty in getting a proper warp would be obtaining the proper weapons. Of course, this leaves any optimization up for grabs but at least allows us to consistently end the game fast.

It takes 15 clicks to get a large-strength char with various instances of the Comma Glitch.

Stats There are: 17 skin colors 39 hair cuts 23 stubbles

Being new to this website and unaware of its workings, I recently asked a question over at https://www.speedrun.com/Speedrunning/thread/ubsr3/1.

So to reiterate: I read about a glitch in the Kongregate comment section of this game and started experimenting with it. Eventually, through what now appears to be an incredible amount of dumb luck, I was able to warp my way to Day 125 under the perfect conditions so as to not trigger the error detection of the game. I have since been experimenting further with RNG manipulation and the mechanisms of certain glitches, but have been unable to replicate my result.

Luckily, I was recording with OBS at the time, so I have the "run" on tape. I was wondering if this would qualify for the Any% category as warping to the ending scene of the game is usually allowed in such a category.

So my questions are: will the run be allowed under Any%'s rules and should they perhaps be revised to include warping to the ending scene without defeating the final boss?

Note: I did not use Cheat Engine or any other hacking tools at any point. I just used the glitch where your character becomes entirely manipulated if you insert commas in your name.

Thanks in advance!

I recently thought it would be fun to spend some time with Swords & Sandals II: Emperor's Reign. Over at Kongregate, a lot of people noticed certain versions of the game allowed you to perform a glitch at the character selection screen by writing two commas in your name.

I took that information and expanded on it. After all, you still have to beat the entire game using this glitch. With an unbelievable amount of dumb luck, I got a perfect warp into Day 125 (well past the usual length of the game). I have tried perhaps 50-100 times afterward but have only gotten close to replicating this result.

Now, I did not use any outside manipulation such as Cheat Engine. I only used a glitch that allowed me to warp to a tournament that is registered as the final tournament and thus allows me to see the ending screen. Would this usually qualify for an Any% category? If not, please explain, because I was under the impression that it does.

Just for clarification, a glitch is not a cheat, right? The category rules state cheats and hacks are not allowed.

The problem, however, is that the Any% category definition states you need to defeat the final boss in order to beat the game. This probably didn't take into consideration the possibility that someone would find a way to warp himself past the bosses without using Cheat Engine or other hacking tools.

So should my "run" qualify for the leaderboards? And perhaps move the 100% completion runs to a 100% category? Also, should the rules of the category be reformulated to allow for warping to the credits? This appears to me to usually be allowed in Any%, such as that of Ocarina of Time.

Thanks in advance!
