Thank you for your responses!
@Pear Yes, I want to be able to record and also stream with my splits. I will keep that option in mind though.
@SioN Unfortunately Tiberian Sun doesn't run in Windows 10 without serious issues unless you download user patches made by a community that plays it online PvP. However, these user patches also fix all of the glitches that are used to speedrun the original game.
@Aiivan I am running LiveSplit as an administrator but are you suggesting that I need to run the VM as an administrator too? I hadn't even considered that... I will check it. I have not been able to find any solution in the VM settings, unfortunately. I use VMware for all of my VMs so it wouldn't be inconvenient to use another VM software, but if I can't find any other fix I will try that. I tried installing LiveSplit in the VM but because it's Windows XP (32-bit) it won't run LiveSplit which I can only find in 64-bit.
Thanks again!
I'm running an old game (Tiberian Sun) on a Windows XP virtual machine (VMware17). The problem is that LiveSplit won't register any 'Global Hotkeys' while I am in the VM. It's like the second I click into the VM, LiveSplit cant receive my hotkeys anymore.
I have tried turning on Global Hotkeys in the LiveSplit settings and running it as an administrator. This is a big issue for speedrunning the game as there isn't time to click in/out of the VM to register each split. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks!
