As far as I know, you are allowed to do that, yes
Are runs with it even legal? Since there is the "No Dev Console/Javascript editing/inspect element is allowed." rule?
What a great run! I'm sure your nerves will get better if you keep on trying. Mountain death hurt my soul, but at least it was in the beginning.
Did not know about the strat in pink box room. That one's cool.
Thanks for verifying, sorry for the missing sound, I did not realize at the time.
What are you using to record your runs? I would recommend against streamlabs OBS, because it's really ressource heavy. Maybe try pure OBS, it's exactly the same without the bloat.
If it's not the recording software itself, maybe try recording with a different device? That may be another laptop and some fancy setup, but it can also be your phone, just set it up nicely so we can clearly see what's going on.
I like the idea. But allowing changing anything in the dev menu needs a lot of regulation. It's probably easier if you pitch the idea on the discord, if you can
without the achievements it is not really psosible to time the runs. and it would be boring, probably the same as a million
Have you done runs on maps or difficulties not yet on the leaderboard? It would make the leaderboards even broader and lessen the competition further, so I'm not a fan
Just do a run, no one is stopping you. If you do the run the odds of it being added to the leaderboards increases dramatically.
I like the idea, can I please, just to be sure, see the source code? You can dm me :)
you have to install the extension in chrome (allow non-verified extensions, which chrome really doesn't like), then you have to show the developer console in chrome (press F12 while in chrome)
Nobody is really using it, and it is not obligatory.
Yes, we had a discussion on the discord which lead to the categories of leftclick and fastclick. In fastclick you can choose whatever you like, and sort by it if it is important for you. But there are to much options to make more categories, and there's no reason to start a discussion again after so many people voted for the current system
I know I said something else earlier and I still think the only consistent rule would be left clicks. but that would be super boring. And you still get an advantage depending on your mouse. I have two different ones, and with one of them I can't get neverclick for the helll of it. I think it would ruin the fun for way to many people if the rules only allowed leftclick.
I recorded a run with the mousotron right here. Maybe we can build in rules like click every button (middle, extra 1, extra 2 ....) while the mouse is on the cookie and scroll to proof that the actions work but do not trigger the cookie. I don't know. ()
EthanJayAce, can you test if your exploit is registering as normal mouseclicks? If so, maybe we can allow mousekeys. We just have to be sure that one click corresponds to one action.
I think we should ban any other clicks except for left mouse clicks. Because everything else just opens the road for more discussion. And we would need a way how to verify them, possibly with a cam, though I don't like that, because I don't have one. I would prefer a software solution, I'm playing around with mousotron at the moment, maybe a few of you can take a look at that (http://www.blacksunsoftware.com/mousotron.html).
I looked up mouse keys. How are they an advantage? Why would you like to use them? I understand zoid also used them for a run so you don't seem to be the only one interested.
I tried the click counter, I don't like the program itself because OBS Studio has difficulties recording it. Still I think it is a good idea.
