Hey there man do you have Videos of these anywhere and if so could you post them?
Hey guys I'm looking to add some rules to the Any% (PS2,Wii,PSP) category in particular on when runs should start and end. I was thinking about changing it so the timer starts when you gain control of your character rather then when the two games line up. But I wanted to get other peoples opinions on this before I made any changes...
Apologies to all runs I missed I've been dark on speedrunning for the past 2 months all times have been now been updated. If you submit runs and they haven't been updated within two weeks feel free to PM me on discord and I will update ASAP.
Due to the video being older there are decoding issues in a couple of places others being in the library during the first book Golem fight. As well as before the chairman fight. I was using my ipad and I didn't find the error message, so maybe try using the mobile app. If that doesn't fix it let me know and I will try and get the video uploaded somewhere else. Good Luck :)
It's been nearly two years since I ran this game so I have lost my speedrun notes, however I have added time stamps for each upgrade I get in WR run. Other upgrades either do nothing valuable or not worth getting, Fast Trap 00:10:17 Pretty much required to get fast captures for the speedrun. Boson Dart Supercharge 00:24:07 Needed for opera ghosts Shock Blast Rate Increase 00:41:23 Needed to kill book golem quickly Shock Blast Heat Reduction 00:45:52 Earliest Point you can get upgrade Meson Collider Accelerator 01:21:20 The point where I buy the rest of the upgrades that might be useful. Meson Collider Penetration 01:21:22 Slam Dunk Trapping 01:21:27 Slime Blower Force Increase 01:21:32 Reduced Slime Consumption 01:21:34 Hope this helps :)
The only real areas with real difficulty I can think of: The first being Shandor Island when you need to fight two black slime monsters after you open the flood gates. If you are not careful you can die there and lose a lot of time. The second being Central Park towards the end of the level you need to smash stone angels into the indestructible gate either slime tether or capture stream will work to break the gate, but the angels do A LOT of damage and Ray gets easily killed by them so you need to keep an eye on your health bar and the moment Ray goes down you need to revive him quickly. Those are the two biggest areas that I would practice the others are relatively easy, maybe practice the Librarian fight just in case but you shouldn't die anywhere else. :)
It doesn't have any skips or glitches involved meaning that the game has a very low difficulty which is ideal for new speedrunners. It's not the shortest speedgame out there, so if you are someone who doesn't have long periods of time (at least 2 and half hours) to play this game then it might not be ideal to start with. There also isn't a speedrun guide for this game as I have struggled to find time to make one but maybe one day I will find the time to do so. However you are able to load chapters, so practicing areas you struggle with makes the game quite speedrunner friendly. As one of the first speedruns I did, I can definitely say it is one of the easier speedgames to learn, but it enjoyable so if you have any questions about the run feel free to message me on discord.
Yes, LuckyRicohard. I spent a little bit of time attempting to find skips, like attempting to go out of bounds in areas like the library but found no luck. This was around 2 years ago though and wasn't trying that hard but if you have any ideas on areas that might be let me know. :)
