I agree. Just do all three big boos, etc. It wouldn’t take that much longer and it just feels… better. No reason not to tbh.
Straight from the rules for emulator: Allowed Emulators:
Project64 v1.6.x OpenEmu (for Mac users) Mupen64Plus (for Linux users)
Is there a way to use the nso 64 controller via a wired connection?
That shouldn’t be an issue. Top runners map their controls for other games. Gymnast86 does this for SSHD. Since it’s an official feature, it’s allowed.
Edit:Also just looked at the Metroid Dread leaderboard, it explicitly states that remapping controls via the menu is allowed.
What you’re talking about sounds similar to 90 star. The description is: Collect every star except the 15 100 Coin Stars and the 15 Castle Secret Stars, then beat the final bowser. No restrictions. VODs are required for all new submissions. You still have to do red coin stars but you don’t have to do the castle secret stars. I know it’s not exactly the same, but it’s pretty close, and honestly I’d rather do red coins than the castle secret stars.
@Hedgehog125 No, if you set up a new capture in obs, it will capture all sources that you tell it to at the same time. This is how streamers do their game, and the webcam, and the mic on the same screen.
Here’s a step by step. You get an audio cable. You plug it in to the headphone jack on the switch. You plug the other side into the microphone line in on your desktop computer. If it’s a laptop, you can use the headphone jack and it will still work. In obs you will have to set up a new audio input capture. Just mess around with it until you get it to work.
what are you doing during runs that you don't do at other times? Like, is there a certain setting that you change, or an application that you have open only during runs?
Update: after some testing, I have found that this may not be possible. I swear I’ve done this before, but it wasn’t working for me. I’ll do some more testing, but for now just ignore this.
For bug limit, say I want to play the first part on 1.2, and the second part on 1.0 (Both North American Wii version). Would this be allowed? I’m asking because for full game runs I would want to, If possible, do the first part on 1.2 so I don’t have to worry about the bugs sinking in Lanayru Twilight. I would want to play the second part in 1.0 because of the Cutscene skip in Cits (When you enter the boss arena. From what I can tell from reading the rules this is allowed.) Would I be able to do this? I would just be taking the disc out and putting the other one in. There would be no save and quit. It would be seamless except for the possibility that it might prompt me to put the disc back in, depending on when I do it.
