Cheese05 has been known to be the best SM64 speedrunner ever, he is the first person to beat the game with all start in under 1:40 and people know him as the new Siglemic, but there's on thing, Cheese05 has been trying for a long time to get sub 1:39 after he got sub 1:40, he's beating the game faster and faster, but there's a thing, Cheese has so many parts in his runs that can be fix, and i'm gonna talk about them.
In this part of his run he is trying to skip the thing where you have to go up and come back so the eel gets out and then enter the ship, but there's a huge mistake, he spended more time than i did doing that trick, calculating he spended to get from getting stuck in the ship to entering the out of bounds area about 41 frames, i only took 35 frames, if he could be faster he could have saved 6 frames of his new WR.
The next one is a big mistake, A way to get so much speed in Mario 64 is Long jumping and sliding, while he long jumps, he doesn't slide, this is a huge mistake, doing that not only would he get sub 1:39, but also get around 1:39:30 - 1:39:45.
There's a ton more strats but i'm gonna talk about then in another thread.
Hello, I want to know why is it REQUIRED to use Project64 or OpenEmu when speedrunning the game in emulator, I heard Mupen64 is faster than Project64 or OpenEmu, Wouldn't it be better if you can also use Mupen64 when speedrunning SM64? Is there anything that makes Project64 better when speedrunning than Mupen64?
Well, I wanna speedrun Mario 64, Mario World, Dark Souls, etc. But they all need to be speedrunned with difficult tricks to get it done fast and they take so long to beat (some of then), Is there an game that's short, Not so difficult and that doesn't have so many insane tricks so i can begin speedrunning?
