I tried to find information online about this, but didn't have much luck. I've been thinking about learning to speedrun OoT and possibly MM, and then remembered the Collector's Edition disk I have and wondered if I could speedrun that instead. What I can't figure out is how the games on the Collector's Edition differ from their standalone counterparts, such as what version of the games are on the disk? What tricks/glitches can and can't you do in each game? Are there any quirks specific to Collector's Edition games that the base games don't have, Especially for the WW demo? I'm told that certain tricks for certain games only work on the GameCube versions of them, like the Master Quest disk for OoT. Are those tricks (such as ganonfloor) possible on this disk too? Sorry to ask so many questions, I know this is a lot of information to ask for on a forum, but I didn't know where else to ask. Because of that, if anyone could tell me anything at all or direct me somewhere I might find some answers, that would be very much appreciated. I'm currently very uneducated in the speedrunning world, but I'm hoping to start my journey strong. Thanks for your time and any help you can provide.
So I created this Speedrun.com Game especially for Wind waker, as it has specific Collector's Edition presaves. As far as the other games are concerned, I don't know if there are any differences, but you'll have to check the Discords for the games in question. So yes, you can run on ron Game Colelctor and submit on Zelda Collector's Edition and on the classic game.
Hey Tanner7
Kinda late to answer this but for most games, the speedruns aren't exactly the same as Virtual Console/N64.
However it's really likely to be the same as OOT/MQ Disc for example.
