I did it! I cracked sub-60 minutes.

For this run I switched to the subtitled floppy disk version of the game, also included with the GOG.com release and also running in the prepackaged ScummVM 2.0.0 wrapper per GOG's distribution - no changes were made to the settings except to run the game in a window at 3x magnification.

This is probably going to be my last run for a while. I wanted to get the world record, and then I wanted to see is a sub-60 minute run was achievable. And it is! According to LiveSplit there's a hypothetical 57:28 run possible, and if you get good RNG with the Wizard's Duel I think even that can be topped (I didn't in this run - I lost the first try and won 3-2 in the second).
