I think 10x Owless is a good Category Extention. Its fun and I think its good practice for Owless. Feel free to discuss :)

im here for it. if 10x cless is a thing i don't see why not. would be a great category to help people start working on owless consistency for other runs.

It might be reasonable to make a category "10x singlestar" and put "Cannonless", "Owlless", and "Breezeless" as subcategories. I don't think 10x Owlless needs its own full misc CE, and thus I also don't think it needs 12 runners to be a thing

A bunch of us on my stream have been kinnda half joking about the idea for the past few days. I'd grind the heck out of it too! :D Personally I can see this sort of things working really well for stages like Canonless with specific complexity and difficulty in the setup to justify it's inclusion as a sort of training-stage. (ie: Breezeless, Owlless, Log Skip, Pilliarless and LBLJ) Assuming mods enjoy the idea, a single new tab with sub categories to house these would be a nice fit imo.

Speaking as a mod for other games, I'd typically suggest this kind of thing in the IL Leaderboard for a game but I see the SM64 community tracks full levels in their IL's instead - which honestly answers alot of my inital confusion for why 10x Canonless existed as a cat extension in the first place.

I also consider 10x singlestar useful for anything where there's an especially fast way for getting the segment once but not consistently or with lots of skill involved in getting consistent, making the singlestar grind less valuable for full-game applications - e.g. Cannonless, Wallkicks will work, WDW elevator, Snowman's Head, Hot-Foot-It, and Pillarless - I do agree that Breezeless, Owlless, wingcapless Log Skip, and LBLJ would be good 10x segments as well though.

I think each segment would probably need 1-2 decent (faster than 10x slow strats) times to be added, and then be considered on a case-by-case basis

I just thought it would be a fun challenge to see who could do it the fastest, just looking for more ways to have fun in this game :)

@dumpdome64 Ohh that's interesting to know, I always thought it was 10x sockfolder cannonless to see who can do the consistent setup the fastest without sacrificing consistency. So even though I feel like 10x cannonless changed to the better with Sockfolder, that is an interesting new perspective to look at 10x singlestars - being about strats so inconsistent you want to see who gets the highest consistency

Singlestars that could take this role in the present or future might be 10x tsukishima (might even say you have to die if you miss it?), 10x moving reds, and 10x wdw star 4 elevatorless

they probably isnt nessesary, but it would be there because it is fun to do

@dumpdome64 I've told you Already (and i'm gonna repeat it)! category requests AREN'T mainly done because they're necessary but because they have to be fun. imagine if you were a kid and wanted to play outside with someone (a friend,a parent,etc.) you aren't playing because it's necessary to do so,but you're doing it to spend your free time and to have fun. if you really think that a requested category is unnecessary,then,so would be already existing ones:like all signs,Mario cam RTA,or even Nonstop.

Also remember that the new 10x singlestars won't take up any extra space on the category extension misc list, as there will still be just one miscellaneous category extension for those runs just like we have now, but with the new name 10x singlestar instead of 10x cannonless (and subcategories for each interesting enough star).

So while @dumpdome64 is right in that adding an extra category for each interesting enough star would be overkill, there is also no need for that in order for the board to display the new 10x singlestar runs

@dumpdome64 We understand you feel that way but the vast majority of posts on this thread so far indicate that there's a community interest for it. You can't deny that.

And yes,10x Canonless may have started out as a meme but now that there's so many more options than just OG method, the category has evolved for alot of people into a sort of challenge category as a way of training consistency.

I'd love to hear some of the mods thoughts on these ideas - it's good to present differnt viewpoints but just arguing about it is pointless to everyone; that's for the mods to decide not us.
