Every single custom character is seemingly randomly assigned 2 different special tricks.
After a lot of unsuccessful research on my end in an effort to discover what influences them, the sudden arrival of GreenPirateBird, the now current WR holder, has marked a point where we finally understand how they are determined. To much surprise, the special tricks you are given access to depends on your Custom Character's Name.
This game continues to be full of surprises with my WR trounced once more, I am eager to see what other secrets this game could still be hiding
This was great info, and after looking into it, the special tricks are decided deterministically from a set of 10 different possible special trick sets. (Each are the same special trick pairs from the non-secret pro riders).
Since it's deterministic, you can choose a name to get a specific set if you prefer. It adds up each of the characters in the name kind of like a checksum then just turns that into a number from 0-9.
So conveniently, entering a name that is just 0 will give you the first special trick set, 1 will give the second, etc. 9 will give the final set. (And the first 10 letters of the alphabet will do the same)
