NFG Rules is...?

===en (google.translate lol) Hello everybody. I want to start running this legend, but I just can't figure out the rules. What exactly is prohibited in the No Glitch category? Three things worry me the most: -Reduce combo with jump -Flying from the edge with the power of run and block

  • "Deadly" landing using TAB (original controls) Which of these can be used and, most importantly, which CANNOT be used?
France

Hi! No Physics Glitch is meant to ban the most gamebreaking glitches, that are airclimbing, zipping up, teleportation, tilting the character to walk on walls etc...

I don't exactly understand what are the 3 things you worry about: "Reduce combo with jump" I think you talk about animation cancelation during combat? I guess it's allowed

"Flying from the edge with the power of run and block" This is airclimbing and it is banned in this category.

"Deadly landing using TAB" I dont see what you mean here

Landing - many taps TAB before die.

About combo: origin - white att > yellow att > red att with jump i can - 1/5 white att > 0% yellow att > red att

Russia

I am also interested in these two techniques: -Memorizing a combination using a block and completing it at any time. -Use a overenergy attack by blocking animation reduction.

France

well I've never seen these glitches before so I can't really tell. The combat glitches can go in the no physics glitch category without bothering anyone I think. It's ok.

As for the tab-landing it depends on how much it breaks the game. I'd like to have opinions from other runners, but I doubt they would answer anytime soon. What are the skips using tab-landing? where would you use it in a run?

(EDIT: default key is "tab" or "numpad0" but it corresponds to "target enemy")

I'm still thinking about the route (because of this, and populated the forum). Landing works at ANY height, even when the screen turns black - if you don't stop pressing, then control will return soon. But I can immediately say that, if this is permissible, I would cut the section of the Shafts from the first video, jump into the pool in Al-Farum and about half of the Abyss, maybe with lift... need tests. More tests...

France

Well... that's impressive. I don't know where your run could fit in the leaderboard but I would gladly watch it.

Don't you wanna run in glitched mode then, with angle tilting and airclimbing and teleportation too?

Russia

Thank you ( ^-^)

No, I'm not interested in that. If there was a 100% category with a complete cleanup of locations, I would run it better than skip half of the levels. After all, I'm a supporter of in-game skill, not the ability to break games. But in the absence of, I will run the most approximate category. And ... I'm very, very new to the runs... where can I get the timer?

France

https://livesplit.org/

quick guide: with a right click on the display, you will have access to all options you need to setup splits, that are just the names of the levels you need to setup the layout, that means the chrono, the titles, what data you want to show and also choose keys for controling the chrono, which don't interfere with the game controls I don't think there's an autosplitter yet for this game, so you'll have to split manually

Also there might be a problem to get it on screen while recording, either you should give it a specific color then make it transparent in OBS, or you should play in windowed mode and have both windows on display

... I said OBS but I noticed you use bandicam... I would strongly advise using OBS, which is easy to use and will do all you want for free without trouble. https://obsproject.com/download

Thank you very much ( ^_^)

Hey, Sorry for late reply. I can't see any problems with techniques you listed. As long as you are not breaking game physics you should be good. Feel free to DM me at discord for more questions if this forum is too dead (im not checking it too often ;) ) JohnShepard#8379

Hi! "Deadly landing using TAB" would be a good idea to use as a safety net in cases like this

Hi guys. Whoa! I've just noticed that there is a steam stable version available and I would try to run this game again)

Also, I would like to share my thoughts regarding tab-landing glitch (I hope I'm not too late))). I would agree with Priboy313 that it's interesting to run the game without total breaking it and with using in-game skills. And I will add from myself that it's great when it's not necessary to clean the whole locations (like in 100%) and at the same time to not breakdancing through the levels (like in Any Glitches), so 'No Physic Glitches' is a definitely my choice).

I've checked that tab-landing bug also exists in non-Steam (previous GOG version) and new Steam game versions (new GOG version). I just wondering why it wasn't used earlier). Here are my pros and cons regarding using tab-landing in 'No Physic Glitches' category:

Pros: I suppose that tab-landing could provide some freshness to 'No Physic Glitches' category. Anyway, it will need to re-thing some levels routes due to adding tab-landing into runner's toolbox.

Cons. From the other point of view, tab-landing could significantly affect estimated time that is needed to complete several levels (as is was introduced in the 'Abyss' level in this thread) in comparison with route without using tab-landing, that could be unfair to already submitted runs.

Anyway, from my point of view, I suppose that this glitch is not 'breaking the game' as it was mentioned by ISlide as a main idea of using glitches in 'No Physic Glitches' category, and I definitely want to try to perform a run with using it)

But regardless of what community will decide I think that adding new category (like 'No Physic Glitches' with tab-landing) is not a good option due to we have not so many runners here and it would be great to see the same leaderboards with new names, which would show how routes were changed with new runners were joined this game.

I've tested deadly landing glitch in the several places that it could be useful - Mines and Abyss that were already introduced by Priboy313, and one additional that I've found - in Oasis.

Here are the videos of how it could be used (including how Abyss skip could be used further), maybe it could be useful for someone:

  1. Mines of Kelbegen

  2. Temple of Al Farum

  3. Oasis of Nejeb

  4. Abyss - Entrance skip

  5. Abyss - Elevator skip

P.S. Skip in Temple of Al Farum could be performed with two another options:

Hi, keyboardnotfound! Good to have you back. But I don't quite understand what the problem is? Tab-landing is allowed in the "Allowable Glitches" category (previously it was called "No Physics Glitches")

Belarus

Ah, I've didn't noticed that the rules were updated, thanks!

As for the tab-landing it depends on how much it breaks the game

As long as you are not breaking game physics you should be good.

It does break the physics and it does break the game. How do you imagine falling of 100s of meters and surviving. It's even worse than breakdancing. It's airsinking* (which surprisingly isn't mentioned in rules) on steroids. One can skip half of the Abyss with it.

Ledge jump glitch (in Temple of Al Farum)

This jump is not a glitch - you found a way to fall less than 14 meters (vertically) which is allowed in the game.

Russia

@c13ply "Airsinking" is mentioned as "Flying (Airclimbing, Airsinking, Straight movement through air)"
