New Chaos% installation guide

The previous guide and mod have been taken down, so a new remake of the mod was needed. The mod is slightly different, but it is essentially the same.

(This mod works for all versions of the game)

The mod can be downloaded at:

You only need to download the .exe file.

After downloading it you want to open it and start the "First Time Setup" that should pop up. If it does not, make sure that you don't have the chaos% .cfg files or `ChaosConfig.txt´ in your cfg folder.

You will need to select your fov, m_yaw and viewmodelfov, if you do not know what some of these mean, just set the default. Then you will select your cfg folder, with the path located above.

For you to be able to start, you will need to have portal open, click the button that says `Start the Chaos´ and type in the console 'exec chaos'. Then you can start your run.

Once you do this, it is done!

For recording the runs you can either capture the window of the mod and crop it to only show the commands that show up or you can enable "Streamer Mode", which will create a text file that shows all the commands.

Timing categories with multiple runs

This is a guide on how to set up SourceSplit to work well for categories that require beating the game multiple times (e.g. All Main Categories and All Achievements).
The main issue is that when using a regular SourceSplit setup, the timer will reset whenever you go back to 00.

Option 1 (allows for Auto Start and Stop):
Use [2838's fork of SourceSplit](https://github.com/thisis2838/SourceSplit/releases), which most importantly for this use case has seperate options for Auto Start/End/Reset, where regular SourceSplit has these combined. Also this version basically just expands on regular SourceSplit, so with the right set of settings this can function the same as regular SourceSplit.
The specific settings you need of course depend on how your splits are set up, but the one thing you definitely wanna do is turn off Auto Reset. This way the timer won't reset in 00. Auto Start will still start at the very first 00, and Auto End will split whenever GLaDOS dies.
To install this version of SourceSplit, just download the [LiveSplit.SourceSplit.dll from the Releases page HERE](https://github.com/thisis2838/SourceSplit/releases), and replace the original LiveSplit.SourceSplit.dll in your Livesplit\Components folder (you probably want to back up the original one somewhere though). The autosplitter and the settings should then be available in the Edit Splits menu just like regular SourceSplit.
So in summary, you (most likely) want the following settings: Auto Split - Disabled, Auto Start - Enabled, Auto End - Enabled, Auto Reset - Disabled.

Option 2:
If you don't wanna do the above, you can just use regular SourceSplit and disable Auto Start/End/Reset, however this means you'll have to manually start and stop, aswell as split between runs. Since that is gonna be slightly inaccurate you'll have to go through the video afterwards and check the timer at the exact start and stop points in order to retime.

Select Yes if your run uses the official vault save, which skips the waiting period in the vault (while still adding the time).

Select which subcategory your run is (if you don't know what Yesclip is, chances are very slim you accidentally did it so just select No Yesclip)

Select IRL if you did your run in person, select Online if you are instead streaming your inputs to the other player.
