This was a Speedrun.com Series Bounty with a prize pool of 1000$. I managed to get this run three hours before the deadline. I just have to say that I didn't expect to win this at all because throughout the whole 9 days, I felt very unconfident competing against runners like 7rayd, xamide, and travage. I have a massive amount of respect for them, since I watched them a lot during the bounty. I learned a lot of stuff that I wouldn't have figured out myself.
During the last day I woke up at 10 am and played 13 hours non stop while practicing the hardest skips offline. When I started the stream my pb was still a 14:28, while the record was I believe 13:44. I know I could get a better run for myself but I did not aim for the top 3. I subconsciously gave up but I still wanted to try since I already put 80 hours into the game.
I felt a massive skill issue because I just couldn't finish a run. While looking at the others how they were getting times under 14, it was tough to keep going. But somehow I ended up with a pb of 13:51, one hour into the stream. That was a little confidence boost but I knew I could do better. After another hour I managed to get a 13:41 which secured me the record at the time, which was 3 hours before this run. I have no idea how I manage to do this, but every time I feel like there is no chance of winning, my brain locks in and I just ignore my thoughts and just go autopilot.
GG's to the other competitors, I learned a lot from you. It always impresses me how people find these kind of oob skips to shoutout to the "scientists" as well.
