Hi everyone lots of news. If you haven’t seen yet Lunch Lady version 1.7.0 was just released, and in it includes a lot of changes that relate to speedrunning.
We’ve updated the leaderboards with the new Manic University map, 1.7.0 all maps, and the option to include milliseconds (Note: ANY submission that doesn’t include milliseconds will be moved up 1 second).
The biggest change is the inclusion of milliseconds in the final time. To enable this, go into options —> Language & UI —> Turn on Milliseconds. Runs are becoming increasingly more optimized and with that comes ties, milliseconds will help reduce this. However, with the addition of milliseconds, we are now faced with a challenge on how to handle all the runs currently on the leaderboards. The previous timer would round down to the nearest second, giving runs done on pre 1.7.0 versions an advantage. To make it fair, we’ve decided to add on an extra second to every top 10 SOLO run without milliseconds. We are only changing the solo category because all 2+ player runs have had a change that overcompensates for the time loss due to no milliseconds, which leads me to the next big change.
The black screen walk at the beginning of the game is no more. Multiple player runs now function the same as a solo run where players can run directly to where they want without having to navigate in complete darkness. This change will save tons of time on 2+ player runs, and is also the reason we are not touching any old runs. This also means the “all POVs” rule is no longer in effect (although it’s still encouraged).
The last big change in the update is the addition of a “Restart Map” button in the pause screen. Long gone are the days of quitting then inviting, we now have an extremely efficient way of resetting!
TL;DR New LL map, milliseconds included in the time, all top 10 solo times without millisceonds will have an added second, restart button, and leaderboard categories (Manic University & 1.7.0 all maps) are live.
There are two major changes going into effect for speedrunners. The first and largest is that ALL multiple-player runs that place in the TOP 5 must include ALL POVs for the run to be verified. There will be zero leniency for this rule. (All runs done after 1/10/2023 are subject to this rule change)
