This reminds me of Mario Odyssey, could there be a miscellaneous section where the idea is to get the speedrun of what is considered the fewest amount of hits? If there's an issue with it that I'm not noticing, tell me, I'm open for discussion.

I have thought about having such a category multiple times. I haven't experimented with it personally, but I think it could be interesting to see how few hits it's possible to complete the game in.

The speedrun of the game doesn't focus on minimizing hits either. For a while I thought less hits would be faster, and in some places it is. But in other places the ball is hit to just make it faster.

Have you tried to see how few you can get?

i just finished a test run for a low% of air hits currently ive whittled it down to 7 air hits. Its simaler to what your saying but a minimum hits run could be interesting as well
