Basic things to note/Future of Any%

Hovering is slightly slower than walking so if you have to hover keep it at a minimum. 

Bumping ledges is a time loss. On some levels I couldn't find a way to avoid bumping since you need some space to clear it cleanly but I did notice you could let go of forward for a frame then jump and hold forward again and you will be able to clear it cleanly since you won't have the momentum. It does save time as well.

There is ground pound cancels. You need to press the B button to throw olafs head and you won't be stuck on the ground for a few frames. There is a super tiny window where you will cancel the ground pound animation but olaf won't throw his head either. This saves the most time.

After jumping on a trolls head you can input a ground pound to land on the troll head but it's still in endlag from the first jump. The troll will try jumping again as soon as it can but you can actually jump a few frames before the troll jumps and you will get a super high jump and still have a double jump and a hover available. This helps clear some jumps that you normally couldn't clear from that distance.

Fast menuing is incredibly important. You will lose multiple seconds at the end of the run if you have slow menuing.

In terms of the future of any% Sub 17 is impossible until we find a skip. I have been looking at every stage and can't find anything. It seems likely that the only thing that's available is a bug that no one has discovered. I am terrible at finding bugs but if someone if good at that kind of thing then have at it. If you can find a way to clip through ice blocks then that alone will make sub 17 possible. I'm not sure what time a TAS run would get but I'm assuming it would be a low 17:2X or even a high 17:1X, hard to tell.
