Learn how to climb horizontally in thin vertical passages, with the fast left right grapple shots.

Reset once before you attempt a run, as the first loaded attempt will be limited in movement until Fork lands. Resetting gives you movement in the time it takes you to fall onto the screen, which means you can move forwards saving a fraction of time. Your first hookshot line should be fired diagonally down-right with run held, followed by a non-running diagonal up-right grapple shot to skip the first ledge.

Most of the run is self explanatory, however most of the trickier jumps have setups that make them very easy to perform. I will cover most of them here based on the height at which you encounter them. Please refer to the posted speedrun videos for exact details.

At 80M, you can toss a hook under the double snow block stack to your left, and then in mid air run+toss to skim past the horizontal double snow block on your right. If you do this correctly, you can jump off of the line you create enough to toss a hook over the vertical snow block stack on your left, which will let you quickly progress past that obstacle. The area immediately following (before ice) is scalable without hooks. Alternatively, you can hop off of the sweater at the peak of its jump, wall jump from the double snow block on the left, then have proper height to create a rope to continue climbing.

At 122M, you are capable of standing on the left half of the center platform to do a run + toss to hit the far right side with a hook followed by a jump + straight horizontal left shot to create a line with a shallow enough angle to easily slide up and under the ice spikes. From there, you can shimmy up from hooks on the red brick square and the wall on your left as seen in the video. Once on top of the red brick square, you can jump up easily without hooks. Alternatively, you can wall jump between the leftmost wall and the red brick square instead of relying on angled ropes.

At 148M, near the middle of the clearing before the spikeway, tossing a hook directly above you, then a non-run hook to your right. For optimum speed do these in reverse order, as it will take longer for the hook to fall down than it will to hit the ceiling. Once you make it halfway down the line, toss a hook up. This will cancel your momentum on-line for some reason, which will make your jump and shot to your right to climb up much easier.

At 190M, there is a wall jump alternative available between the rightmost wall and the snow platforms.

At 218M make sure that the hook on the left is high enough so that your line (made from the double horizontal blocks) will clear the higher spikes on the right as you go across. Make an additional rope if you do not have enough height to safely clear. Jumping is an option if you miss it, but it is riskier. You should be able to easily and safely move across this section. Beware the yeti throwing snowballs towards the right.

At 225M try to emulate a similar setup for hooks, with a left hook hitting the top of the spiked square on what will be your left, a right hook above and on the right side, and a run+toss diagonal up+left shot landing high enough on the long rectangular platform to allow you to jump up without wasting time shimmying up on horizontal hooks. Penguins in the next area should not cause any problems, just take your time platforming.

At 283M, make sure that the hook to your left will be high enough so that you can hit the ledge of the ice-block platform.

At 296M, I am unaware of the patterns/timing which makes snowballs fall onto the two lone square blocks. It is best to approach with caution, or enough height and momentum to skip the ledge jump completely if possible.

At 309M, hug the left wall to manipulate the snowman directly above you into starting a snowball windup animation to his left, instead of to his right. While standing at the far left wall, toss a hook at your feet and run+toss a hook diagonally up+right to hit the far right wall, which you will jump up as the left snowman begins his windup animation. The right snowman will never hit you if you take this line.

*** There are multiple solutions to this portion. *** Video Solution: At 314M, stand on the left block of the right platform and clear your lines. Run+toss to your up+left, then regular toss to your right, with no movement. Jump up and over the spike wall, and run+toss a hook to your immediate left. If you mash jump, you will clear the hook connected to the ceiling, and completely avoid the snowman.

Alternatively, using the 309M pattern, climb to the left platform. Clear lines as necessary, and run + toss a hook up-left, landing on the bottom of the platform where the next checkpoint tent is located; run + toss a second hook directly up. This should enable a safer, faster climb.

At 323M, you can jump on two sweaters (landing on 1 & 3, counting left to right), which will save a large amount of time compared to jumping on each individually. Generally hold run+right, letting go mid-air in between the two to slow down a small amount. Do not tap left, or you will miss the whole jump more often than not.

At 333M, run+toss a hook to your right, while standing on the far right block on the second layer. Then jump and run+toss another hook up+left while jumping. Make sure to tap "Up" to naturally climb up the ledge, as jumping will ensure a death to the spikes!

At 358M, run under the first snowball, then run + toss one hook right, run + toss one hook left, jump onto and above this line, and run + toss right to gain height for the next platform. Alternatively, you can skip over all of the snowballs tossed if you toss a hook from left to right, hitting the single block on the right wall. My video messes up the order of hooks and wastes a few seconds here using this strategy.

At 366M, you can completely skip using any lines by bouncing off of a snowball here, optimally while jumping over the spikes. If you do not want to bounce, you can easily stand on the first block of the "snow-stairs", jump and run+toss a hook to your left (through the snowman) and then while standing on the second snow block run+toss a hook up+right to hit the ledge above you to safely clear the snowman.

At 390M, my video takes a needlessly risky line hugging the rightmost wall. You are able to use the center chasm nearly as quickly as the rightmost side.

At 400M, drop a hook on the far right corner of the platform with the arrow, and run+toss a hook up+left to hit the two-wide platform on its right side for an easy slide.

At 410M, quickly toss a hook at your feet in the middle of the platform, and run-toss two hooks, first up+right and second up+left. Follow your line up to the right, and toss a hook to your up + right and then left to climb to the final area.

Through the 420M-450M climb sequence, make sure to aim your hooks to land as quickly as possible to save time. Your main incentive is to jump-climb your way up as evenly and smoothly as possible.

At 450M, try to end your vertical climb with your final left hook lining up evenly across the immediate chasm. To do this, make sure that your last vertically climbing line is a run+toss hook to your right, and then another immediately to your left. If done properly, you should land on a fairly even line, with little momentum.

While hanging from this right-left flat line, clear your lines. (Make sure you are attached before clearing) From this position, regular toss to your right, so that it will drop in between the entire chasm, through the ice spike diamond, creating a safe space in the winding corner under the ice spike diamond. If you hit a wall, simply clear your lines WHILE ON THE FLAT LINE you created going from right to left.
Once you have an angle that looks safe, gain momentum and slide to your right, dropping down to your newly created line. Do a quick flat horizontal line and slide through with your momentum, and swiftly ascend to the peak. While ascending, take aim towards the "lip" blocks even with the final checkpoint tent for the fastest climb possible.

Good luck!
