- Follow User Following games is great, what about users too? It can at times be a stretch to have to use many other social media accounts to keep up with buddies or those whose runs you enjoy. This would be a nice way to centralise such activity.
- Community tab /splash page for profiles It'd be great to have a little area to, for example, display/promote your blurb as a runner: that may include the ability to sticky your tutorials, a small blog space or link to such beneath featured run, or other such material. Speaking personally I run many very small-community games, and if runners who were looking at my profile for ideas etc could see easy-access links or mini posts, here, about game guides/resources or FAQs, that might make it a good experience.

Following users would turn into a competition to see who has the most followers. I don’t want this site to go even more downhill. If you want to hook up with other speedrunners, use something like discord.

There are already descriptions on profiles, and you can feature your run(s) at the top of your profile.
this site is supposed to track yours and others times not to connect with your buddies. use social media for that
I don't think you understand what I mean - I may not want to follow an entire game re new runs, but I may want to see any time particular runners post new runs.
runners usually upload their runs to youtube where you can see them the second they are uploaded and most of the time they are also streamed to twitch and some post splits to twitter or their own discords
Yeah as SioN mentioned above, you can easily use the already existing social media instead. This is really a leaderboard website for tracking times and if you are interested in a singular person, a different platform would be much more suited and tailored towards that.
