Im talking about bunny hop Speed map and top 1 speedrunner of this map. That doesn't feel any fair since he had used speed from previous life. Which means sub 30 seconds might be not even possible and you will never see "That player has completed map in 0:29!". Is this a reason that speedrun community is such small? They simple hate the logic as well?
And another thing I've noticed - Bunny Hop Various top 2 speedrun. What the hell? Did he just start a timer LATER? Seriously?
Everything is fine with logic, but with Various I can agree as moderator didn't noticed that runner starts timer later. This run will be on re-verification. But Speed Top 1 is fine. Cause we have methods to see legit and not legit runs. When you submit bunnyhop run you can specify real-time and in-game time. We have priority on the first one. Therefore, this doesn't require the runner to restart the game and/or pay attention to the timer in the lower left corner. Also if you look at the game timer, you will see that the runner started about at 4:23 and finished at 4:52. The difference is 29 seconds. So this run is legit.
I can agree that after death runner get some speed at start, but you can also get this speed when you create the server. This trick is allowed.
Hmm... sounds somewhat fair, right? Unless IT DOESN'T. People don't choose where they start. Once a level starts you spawn in a near, random spot, which people don't setup beforehand so it's sometimes a game of reaction. Also, since you've spoken of "previous completion gives you the speed boost" which is essentially true, though it's sometimes even facing you into a different direction (didn't analyse this very deeply, might always be the same direction + depending on a map, THOUGH FACT IS A FACT, he didn't start in this screen position and i still doubt sub 30 is legal, and the speed map speedrun is totally illegal.
You're talking about a map, although in fact checking speedruns in bunny hop is quite difficult and this's a topic that can be discussed forever, recalculate time and find fault with each runner and the conditions in which runners make time. Therefore, we recommend to runners start speedrun by creating a server, so that it's easier for us to compare RT with IGT. At the same time, we don't prohibit making the time after death on the map. This is everyone's choice and how lucky they're. Speedboost can be obtained in any case if runner want it. The countdown will be the same for everyone.
As mentioned above, speedrun checks are performed using certain methods that help us determine the legit of any speedrun.
After re-checking the run for 29 seconds, I can say that it doesn't carry any violations, which means it's absolutely legal. All the tricks are part of the physics of the game. All the rules of 2021 are met (Run made in 2023, rules updated in 2024).
So you've just ignored the message, right? Did you get what I'm saying? No one can choose EXACT LOCATION and SCREEN PLACEMENT after they've completed the map/joined, which means sub 30 might be not even possible. Your logic is the same as "they can start wherever they want because they still can get there if they want to". And what you've just said right now? "This topic is dramatic so let's not discuss it, I'll leave my last words because I'm a moderator here, so listen to me now. We reccomend people to start from making a new server, but we don't care if they start right at the end of a course, which sounds pretty reasonable. So I've checked the run again, and yeah, he started the timer mid-jump (which is a speedrunner skill you won't ever get because you've never made a good speedrun) to cut off some time, but he didn't touch any bunny hop blocks yet so it's making it legit. Again, we've checked for over a hundred of rules so we may be fully sure that run is legit and doesn't violate any speedrunning rules a speedrunner must know and follow. Reminding you, this is an end of convo, we don't want to discuss it, it's just a world record on the most popular bunny hop map, nothing so deep."
