Questions about rules while setting up: I’m playing on PC and I have to disable movies in the launch window in order to run the game. Is that a problem? There’s also a slider for number of characters that appear on screen. Not sure where it needs to be set.

AFAIK, disabling movies doesn't really affect any of the timing of the game. As for the character slider, it's probably best to leave it at default.
