So... you can now beat the game with 0 monkeys.

Let me explain.

Back in December 2023, we discovered a weird glitch in the Wii version of the game that lets you skip checkpoints of the first level. By using emulator savestates, we were able to skip the entire level.

What's the glitch? You need to randomly move the WiiMote in the menu of the game, and hope for the best. For some reason, once you clicked "Begin Story" it spawned you further in the level.

At the time we decided to not allow this in Any%, since it seemed impossible to reproduce without savestates.

Fast forward to today. I discovered you can apply this glitch to other levels. And it's RTA viable.

Basically all you have to do is enter the level, exit to story, move the WiiMote around and re-enter the level. If you're lucky you will skip parts of it.

So what did I do? I used it in Fix the Plane. And it worked, I was able to skip the entire level and enter Dam Busters with NO monkeys.

For now, getting the skip is just luck, so you have to spend time exiting and re-entering a level over and over hoping it will work.

I completed a run with this skip, which is a 30:32 LRT.

It still took me around 10 minutes to skip all the checkpoints, and the rest of the run was also pretty bad. In this run I also didn't go for every checkpoint skip, I just finished In Madagascar normally and only skipped the Moles Minigame in Prepare to Launch. Potentially, with an incredible run, this game can go down to around 15 minutes.

The current Any% runs that collect 60 monkeys will be moved to a new category, that will simply be called "60 Monkeys".

Any% No Major Skips will be moved to category extensions, and All Monkeys is getting renamed to 100 Monkeys.

At the moment, this glitch has only been done on Wii, but maybe it's possible on other platforms, we are gonna test that.

It's confirmed it works in the following levels: In Madagascar, Prepare to Launch, Welcome to Africa, The Watering Hole, Fix The Plane, Dam Busters.

For some reason, it doesn't work in Up To The Plane, and we still have to try the other levels.
