Massachusetts, USAHi! We just had a quick discussion and decided that for now, we don't need to know the milliseconds value for runs. They're not possible to see on the 360 (as far as I know), and they shouldn't matter in most cases due to how MBU's timer works. I edited your run and linguini15's run to remove the thousandths place. Nice run btw :)
Not sure where the timing discrepancy between your 6:12 and my 6:39 comes from. The only times I remove are the screen where it says the word "Loading" at the top, all time where the marble is in the start pad/finish pad/menuing still counts. Regardless, awesome run dude!!
Final time I'm touching this (I hope)! I added variables to the All Levels and Advanced categories as subcategories for if you did Hypercube or not. If you did it, you can submit to both categories, and if you didn't, then there's still a category for you to submit to.
For almost all categories, "beating" the game is clicking on the alarm clock in Retrospect. If you want to speedrun the dog ending, there's a "secret ending" category in the category extensions page.
I decided for now to include Hypercube in these categories, since it's in the Advanced levels for MBU PQ and we might as well do it. If we decide to change this later on, then it's easy to just remove the last level from any already submitted runs and retime them, but it's not possible the other way around. I'm still happy to hear everyone else's thoughts on it!
Hi all, I created this leaderboard since there wasn't one for the PlatinumQuest version of the MBU levels and there are plenty of differences.
One question that I'd like to hear about what the community thinks: should the final Advanced level Hypercube be considered part of the speedrun? I have some reasons for and against it:
- It's included in the PlatinumQuest levels in the advanced category, and this leaderboard is for that version
- The level is not in the original Marble Blast Ultra and was added as an extra (apparently the level is a bonus from MBG?)
- The physics of that level don't match the rest of the levels (the marble is smaller and there is no blast)
Personally, I'm in favor of leaving that level out of the run, but I'm curious to what others think. I also considered splitting them into two categories "60 levels" and "61 levels", but that seems pretty overkill to me and it's probably best to just stick with one of those.
In one of my any% attempts, I had this obscure bug occur. I entered the door to the rosetta room, but the instant I pressed up, the room I was in got reset. There wasn't any fade in or fade out, the room just instantly reset. What's interesting is that after resetting, the room contained black holes which means it really did count as the second time I was in that room.
I've never seen this bug before, so I'm not sure if it's already known. I have no idea what caused it or how to reproduce it :)
