Yes! Anytime you want to use the mattock, the jump button needs to be held down. Same with the use of the Glove from Xemn and the crossbow for Mayna
Calls into question what to do with the radio as well, because it only lasts for the screen and can be hit again if you leave and come back. For consistency, if the barrier and invincibility are excluded, the radio would have to be as well if we exclude on the grounds of the items not being permanently consumable.
Though I think the run would be more interesting with the radio, specifically the second to last level where you would have to drop down and traverse a particularly dangerous set of spikes.
I don't run this game, but Damageless runs take God-tier gameplay strats and commitment to complete. I find Damageless a staple category on any board, personally. Although it may seem trivial to have one run on the board, having a category adds to an individual runners resume of speedgames and it's nice to have all one's accomplishments neatly in one place.
Thanks for the reply! Yes, the category rules are as you described it: each member for their intended crown by any means. I appreciate you looking into it!
Hey Everybody!
I would like to make the Family% Category a reality. Rules being all Family members used to obtain the crowns in their own area with pause jumps allowed (this really being the only distinguishing factor from the No-pause jump category). I have completed my first good attempt in the link below.
Lyll, Mayna, and Rohas runs are exactly the same as Any%, with the exceptions of Lyll grabbing the Rose and Mayna grabbing the extra crystal in their areas. Manipulations are the same. Xemn's manipulation is exactly the same as Any% to Lyll when she does his area.
Pochi's manipulation starts off the same as Xemn's, but I have found new scrolls in his area, though they are extremely hard to hit and a work in progress for consistency. I also found a really simple, consistent manipulation for obtaining Xemn's glove.
My Family% run is linked below:
