I've updated the rules based on the change in ruling on emulator runs that will split the boards for full-game runs. The previous rules are archived in the next post of this thread. Here are the new rules for the game and each category:

Game Rules Emulator Rules All emulators play this game faster than any console can, and therefore do not produce accurate results, or provide fair competition compared to console. Because of this, emulator runs are split into their own category for full-game runs.

The only approved emulator for runs is Dolphin 5.0, available on their website: https://dolphin-emu.org/download/ . Download the latest build under the Beta versions header, and use “Help > Check for Updates…” frequently within Dolphin. In “Options > Configuration > General,” you can set “Auto Update” to “Beta (once a month).”

-In the properties of the game ISO, uncheck "Speed up Disc Transfer Rate." -Under “Options > Configuration > General,” uncheck “Enable Dual Core (speedup).” -Under “Options > Configuration > Advanced,” uncheck "Enable Emulated CPU Clock Override.” -Under “Options > Graphics Settings > Hacks,” uncheck "Skip EFB Access from CPU." -The window's title bar showing the emulator version, framerate, etc. must be visible in the video. -Modifications, cheats, edited .ini files and emulator-exclusive functions are not allowed. Using save states and speedup for any reason is not allowed.

Misc. Rules The PC version is banned due to extreme inconsistencies such as cutscenes randomly not playing, random speed-ups & slow-downs & various other bugs which can have a big impact on time.

USB loaders are not allowed.

All glitches that require manipulating the hardware/software or are not replicable across platforms are not allowed (e.g. opening disc tray, using cheating devices, etc.). Soft resetting with Start + B + X is allowed.

Permanent video proof is required for submissions.

Any submission made prior to this rule set being implemented (1 July 2021) still holds a valid place on the leaderboards, even when the submission no longer meets the requirements.

Category Rules (Any%) Beat the game as fast as possible through use of any means available. Time begins when selecting Story, time ends when Billy hits the ground after grabbing the emblem in the final level.

Category Rules (All Levels) Beat all levels in the game as fast as possible through use of any means available. Time begins when selecting Story, time ends when the emblem counter ticks up to 57 after completing every level.

If you are using emulator, please consult the emulator rules in the "Game Rules" tab before running or submitting.

Category Rules (100% Egg Master) Collect all 60 emblems in the game as fast as possible through use of any means available, earning the “Egg Master” distinction on the file. Time begins when selecting Story, time ends when the emblem counter ticks up to 60 after beating all levels, achieving S rank on every level, collecting all chick coins, and hatching every type of egg.

Category Rules (Time Attack/ILs) IGT (In-Game Time)

Complete an individual level as fast as possible according to IGT. Restarting or dying during a boss fight is not allowed. Use of the Stopwatch item is not allowed. Permanent video proof is required for submissions.
