Hey,
Unfortunately, we will not be adding any modes that require fighting other players and official speedruns via this board are strictly limited to any pve gamemodes that Valorant offers.
Thank you for the suggestion though :)
Personally, I am not in favour of this as I don't believe there is a way to do the tutorial again on the same Valorant account and I don't want people to feel as though they have to keep making new accounts to get better times on the board.
The moderation team will discuss this and decide on a verdict together.
We've had this question before and I believe we were just worried that the time the buy menu disappears would be rng, meaning some runs would get an advantage over others by us timing is this way. I know the buy line can kind of be scuffed as if we can't see the line we just have to estimate, however if anyone believes their run is unfairly timed, someone else will always happily retime it. For the future, we would have to go through and retime all existing runs if we were going to change how we timed runs.
Late response, but personally I'd like us to add the different abilities. Not sure how this would work - whether it would be just a variable, or a new sub-category as a whole, but I think it would be nice. Obviously this would have to go into discussing with all of the mods, though.
Hey guys,
Myself and the moderation team were discussing the rules and submissions for the current Valorant speedrunning categories, and we came to the decision that a new sub-category is necessary.
You'll now see that along with 'No Abilities' and 'Abilities', we have 'Early Abilities'. I'll outline each rule below.
- No Abilities: Absolutely no abilities are allowed on these runs.
- Abilities: Abilities may be used, however they can not be used before the timer of the run officially starts.
- Early Abilities: If you have used abilities before the run officially starts (i.e. to block bots views / get to a better positions), you will be moved to this category where all future runs where abilities are used before the run starts will be kept.
Furthermore, the official point where the timer begins for plant / defuse runs is once you pass the line from the buy area.
Let me know what you guys think, but we believe this will be a permanent addition to the leaderboards. We want to keep the runs as fair as possible. I'll be moving current submissions over in the next hour or so, aswell as verifying all new runs and sorting them appropriately.
We look forward to seeing your runs :)
After my previous forum post, a discord server has officially been made is ready for members to join.
Here is the link for anyone who wants it - you can also join via the sidebar, above Streams and below Resources.
So I've been wondering this for a while.
I know a lot of other speedrunning communities have discord servers for specifically speedrunning that game, where people can communicate and talk about runs and whatnot a ton easier and faster. I am aware there is the official FTF discord server, but I was wondering if anyone other than myself would be interested in a FTF speedrunning discord server?
I can set it up if so (or someone else can, I really don't mind) - I'd like other mods input though on the idea though!
Edit: I went ahead and made one - still private at the moment due to setting up and whatnot. If any mods are against this I can remove :)
Hello I also have thoughts and believe they should be added to this thread as it is a discussion.

I 100% agree with multiple people getting credit for multiplayer speed runs. If me and my friends get a very good run and submit it, only one of us is going to be credited on the actual page - which would be very disheartening if it was our best time overall. The best case scenario for this would be all participants escaping through the same door so you can see it as it is happening.

For the most part, I think the number of survivors needs to be taken into account during Beast% speed runs. Regardless of whether GasGargoyle caught three people 2 seconds faster than Azic21 caught two people, both of their accomplishments should be rewarded fairly. It is a lot harder to capture more survivors as a lone beast, therefore different number of survivor categories should be introduced so the times are shown accurately in terms of how many they managed to capture. It also goes without saying that the top Beast% time was very clearly not legit - The beast had to capture 1 person as someone left as the game started, and you can see their other account loading up to spectate the only survivor - meaning the beast knew exactly where they were at all times. Understandably this isn't disallowed, however capturing 1 person will always be easier than capturing 2, 3 or 4 people, let alone always being able to know where the survivor is.

The map category doesn't really bother me much so I don't have much to say on this but I guess it would be cool to be able to get a high position on all 5 available maps.
Yeah just a bit disheartening seeing other people get verified whilst I'm still waiting and have been waiting longer lol
Around 4/5 days ago, I submitted 2 runs for Jailbreak. Since then, I have seen more recent runs that have been submitted after mine get verified, yet it seems as though mine haven't even been looked at.
I was just wondering why mine haven't been looked at and whether getting more mods might be in the question?
You should definitely add a way to credit the people involved in the run. It's disheartening to know that a friend could submit a run you were a part of and you would get little to no credit.
I would also like to clarify on our parts that it was not the same run - if you watch both videos, they both have different beasts. The people taking part in the speedrun were the same, but the beasts were not. In one of the videos, 3 people escaped through the same door, whereas in the other video, all 4 people escape through one door. I have my POV of the game that GlassGargoyle uploaded to prove this if necessary. :)
You also aren't always able to get your first run to be a speedrun, so recording from homepage wouldn't really work unless you left and rejoined after every game.
